rosacea & acne vulgaris readers emails

I have had mild acne vulgaris for about three years now and recently visited the hospital and all the gave me was a pealing agent in the form of a cream, i also take minoclyine tablets in the morning.

Now i'm fed up with acne vulgaris and doctors, i read an article about a woman who made an ezyma cream for her kid using chinese herbs. So i decided to read up on it, chinese herbs are focused on releasing toxins form the body bla bla bla , then i came acrros your site which says the same thing. I read about aloe vera on your and would like to use aloe vera tablet but my mum wont let me, she says acne vulgaris will disapear in due course, however i was wondering if i could take daily preperations of aloe vera which come in the form of tablets at the chemists (there just like those cod liver oil tablets people use)

if i take aloe vera daily with my current medicing will there be any side affects. (i have mild acne vulgaris not sevre)

Please please can u help me

Mr Nanra , UK

p.s. i think that hospitals worldwide should research alternative medicines in more depth, i think they have more affect than the stuff your doctor gives you.

Hi Mr Nanra I'm afraid I don't believe in releasing toxins from the body and all that pseudo science - I may have been being facetious when I wrote something like that on the sorry - Aloe Vera is very effective for treating the symptoms of rosacea which in my book makes it a drug. Your Doctor is the only person qualified to advise you on drug interactions - sorry. Have you tried treatments from you Doctor like Benzamycin a topical combination of benzoyl peroxide and erythromycin antibiotic? it can be very effective your Doctor will be able to prescribe it or if you have been on Minocin for some time ask about erythromycin or Clindamycin but DO go back to your Doctors and keep going back until you get something that your happy with. I am looking into selling a natural acne vulgaris preparation on the site in the near future which has very good reports so look out for that. Your Mother underestimates the emotional effect your disease has on you not to mention the possibility of scarring. If it's ok with your Doctor I will be interested to hear off you once you have tried the Aloe Vera tablets from your chemists. Remember that most of our modern drugs come from of analogs of plant compounds so it's no wonder that there are still some effective alternative treatments that have not been adopted by modern science - of course no one treatment works for all so perhaps it is unfair to blame the poor Doctors all the time.

yeah hi

i'm now applying a daily cream containing alo vera, so i'll just have to wait and see what happens

thanks alot

mr nanra

I doubt very much if that will work if it is a cosmetic product from a chemist for example it is designed for "normal" skin with irritants that may aggravated your rosacea - I tried many products containing Aloe Vera before I came across the products I sell. See if you see improvement in about 3 weeks if not consider ordering my products.

I believe I have tried every prescription topical drug for rosacea and found them to only work
temporarily. I need some make up advice also. I presently use Almay and
only on the weekends and special occasions. I have tried so many brands
both expensive and inexpensive. Do you have any suggestions? I'm
basically looking for foundation and blush. Thank you.

I'm shortly going to post a "just tips" page that has a couple of emails
about make up as you can see from the appeal on the homepage it is info we
are desperate for! Look for improvement after about 3 weeks with the Aloe
Vera products - I am always here if you need advice or support.

Dear Webmaster

Thank you for such a good site - it really has some positive ideas about
how
to handle the condition. I think, but can't be sure, that pregnancy
triggered my condition. When I diagnosed myself (my doctors had all sorts
of other interesting ideas) I found the rosacea Society site and felt very
very depressed.

I now live with the condition but it never goes away and I feel very
self-conscious even through I don't have the worst case ever. I have even
felt the need to change my clothes (a fine excuse !) to get away from
reds,
pinks and other lovely colours.

Can you keep me updated on any new postings/updates.

JD

A number of women have made the same suggestion about pregnancy it certainly
is probable with hormones racing and the extra strain on the system. I know
exactly what you mean we have all had the same feelings, as you have read on
the site. I am always available if you need advice or support.

I am due to have treatment, ie possible surgery, to my left eye
to-morrow. Having recently visited sites like yours, I do not think it
is necessary. I believe my problem is part of the rosacea I suffer. I
intend to quiz the surgeon to-morrow as to the proposed surgery. If I
had not discovered information such as that offered by you, I would have
gone in and had surgery without asking any questions. I will keep you
informed.

Thanks
Liz

Thanks for writing Liz - I look forward to an update. Info from people such
as yourself are the sites most powerful resource.

what did you mean that the people reading your site might be too shy to write! I have had 4 replies in 4 days! we are already all swapping skin tips etc as well as promising each other support when things get bad...

thanks for the site...what a difference to my life!

Trace

Hehe blimey I've done something right! I thought if people had to print their email addresses it might increase correspondence.

I appreciate you letting me know Trace thanks and any good tips pass em on!

Subject: i'm from china.i have rosacea and i am very suffering.

please give me some advice, will you?

Hi....been using the face cleanser/gel/vit E lotion for 2 weeks
now....very very slight improvement. It does seem to have taken the 'sting' out of the
redness but very slow progress. I use the gel daytime and lotion before bed do you think thats ok?....they
are certainly the best products I have found so far,I just wish it would clear the redness.I shall be ordering more soon.Thanks...Paul.

Hi Paul great to hear off you again – If it’s reducing the stinging then it’s working – but you are not using enough. I use all three products (cleanser, moisturiser and gel) morning and evening and in the past when I started using the products and I thought I needed more treatment a third dose of the
gel during the day - I think you are not applying enough of a dosage of the
gel or moisturiser - I use about a tea spoon full of cleanser and thoroughly wash off with
10 rinses of lukewarm water this helps to unblock pores and get rid of dead
skin cells and flakiness, I then apply about a teaspoonful of moisturiser
(I find that sufficient others may require more and it is excellent) I then
slap the gel on generously, night and morning and as I say a third
application of gel in the early days - give it a try for a couple of weeks
and let me know about the redness, I'm always here if you need advice. It
takes about 3 weeks to show improvement in most people.

Hello,I don't know if this is the right place to enquire but I think
you
will deal with it.I am Paul 41 years old and have a problem with red
face
and flushing...always feel hot.It started about 10 years ago and has
got
worse....I went to my Docter when it started and he took blood tests
and
blood pressure tests and all was ok.
I have been again about Two months ago, again complaining about my red
face
and again tests were done and all ok they say....rosacea was not
mentioned.
I don't have any spots just red cheeks all the time and soon get
hot...could
it be rosacea do you think?..sorry if this is the wrong place to send
this!
Its a pain because I am embarrased about it all the time and try to
cover
my
red face with some masking cream and I don't know which is worse the
red
cheeks or the pink after I use the cover cream!...sorry to go
on.....thanks..Paul,

Hi Paul thanks for writing - has all that flooding gone from your area
yet?
It does sound like rosacea is a possibility. The usual treatments the
Doctor should prescribe are metronidazole topical gel and tetracycline
antibiotics although as you can see from the readers emails people are
rather disillusioned with that treatment. The most effective treatment I
have just found recently is the ALoe Vera gel I sell from the website and
it's luckily cheap to boot! If blushing is your main problem the gel has
really helped me although I've only been using for a month but your
Doctor
can prescribe some drugs that will help - try dixarit (clonidine) first,
and
then Zispin and Propanolol beta blockers details on the site.

Before using the gel I would have redness for no reason and my face was
hot
and this leads to blushing for every and no reason. Once all that is
happening then spots and more permanent redness may appear and then
thread
veins etc DONT PANIC it doesn't have to get worse!!!!!!
Any way try the gel I'm cannot say how much it means to me.

Can you send me some info on rosacea and the Aloe? My daughter has rosacea and it is really sad. I don't know what to do for her. She can't take anything oral so she just needs something topical. What kind of makeup can she use on top of it so it won't get any more irritated? Please help me. Concerned Mom

Hi Mom thank you for writing on your daughters behalf - the best thing your daughter can have is your understanding and support. Many people feel they are strange and may even be told that they have mental difficulties because of some of the symptoms of rosacea - as you can see from the emails I get that is simple not so - we all feel the same and it's those so called professional idiots that are a few slices short of a full loaf hehe. Aloe Vera has been reported in many journals and publications as a treatment for rosacea of course I havent' got any copies - something else to get round to when I have time! There are no guarantees with the treatment I offer, I know how dissapointing it is to get your hopes up and have them dashed but rosacea is a chronic ongoing disease and the Aloe Vera products I have simply the only thing I have ever used that addresses all the symptoms of my rosacea, (spots, flushing, redness, itching, swelling, sensitivity to triggers etc) - I use all 3 products - I was saying to someone else my face is so pale the last couple of days - I look positivly unhealthy! hehe - anyway as I say no guarantees but I hope to god you are as successful as I have been and you will see on the homepage others are starting to give me good reports now too.

I'm always here (when I'm not at work) if you want to talk.

best wishes and take care

hHello. My name is Michelle. I just found your site today and what a
find it is. I was diagonosed with rosacea about 2 years ago, but i
believe it actually started about 4 years ago. I've been prescibed
erthrocyin, tablets and gel, for the acne vulgaris and MetoGel for the redness
and other symptoms. I've seen a fair reduction of redness in my cheeks,
but my nose and chin remain a problem. The acne vulgaris on my chin is a constant
battle. The erthrocyin gel helps some, but i have constant flair ups of
breakouts (yeah, dealing with one right now). And to boot, I have
enlarged pores on my nose and chin area. My dermotoligists has not
recommended anything but the Erthrocyin gel and Metrogel and has
mentioned nothing of the products i've read about in the emails and I
am SO,SO, SO tired of trying products (and wasting $) that just irriate
or don't work. I'm more concerned about the acne vulgaris than the redness.
Suggestions.

Hi Michelle it is always a tough one when you have acne vulgaris and rosacea because
acne vulgaris treatments can aggravate you rosacea. Perhaps try a different
antibiotic such as clindamycin the bacteria on your skin may be immune to
your other antibiotics if you have been on them for a long time. I did find
metonidazole good for getting rid of the spots with my rosacea but no good
for any other symptoms - I find the Aloe Vera regime good for all symptoms
of rosacea but I thankfully have been clear of acne vulgaris for 6 years now so I
can't offer advice from that point of view. There are sulphur based
treatments that have been around for years and are said to be effective
against rosacea, acne vulgaris and seb derm. I know you are tired of getting your
hopes up and being dissapointed but the alternative is to give up and that
you must never do - look at me I've just found this Aloe Vera stuff a few
weeks ago after 25 years (I had tried a cosmetic product with Aloe Vera
years ago but it was worse than useless and put me off) so it just shows you
keep searching and trying - I have extremely sensitive skin and find the 3
Aloe products great but whether it will be as effective for your acne vulgaris as it
is for my rosacea - I'm sorry I cannot say.

Hello Webmaster,

I was very happy to stumble onto your site. I was
diagnosed with rosacea 4 years ago and had it
pretty
much under control using Metro Gel. Then a month
ago,
I was under a lot of stress at work and had the
worst
break out of my life. I've never looked like this
before and it's so demoralizing it's almost
crippling.

My doctor has given me a stronger metronidazole
gel
(1%) and an oral antibiotic, but as I said it's
been a
month now and I've seen no change.

The challenge is that I have to conduct all of my
treatment across the ocean. I'm an American
living
and working in Romania, where the medical care is
not
very good. Luckily, I was in the US at the time
of my
break out and could get my original prescription
filled. But now I have no where to go for
follow-up
treatment.

I read about Aloe Vera on your website and would
love
to order the products you suggest. Unfortunately,
they would never make it through Romanian customs,
(it's illegal to import medicines and there's a
good
chance they could be "pinched" by customs
officials
anyway). However, I do have some Aloe Vera gel in
my
first aid kit and have been able to find a
moisturizer
with Aloe.

I've been using the gel and moisturizer (along
with
the prescribed treatments) for a few days now.
I'm
wondering how long it took for you and others to
see a
difference. Like my fellow-sufferers on this
site,
I'm growing weary of trying to find the "normal"
skin
that's meant to come with adulthood.

Many, many thanks for all your help.

Sincerely,
Shannon

Hi Shannon you should see a difference in about 3
weeks - I'll enclose my
Aloe instructions that I send with orders it may
help you. I know things
are difficult but don't give up - rosacea is a
chronic disease there are no
magic cures just yet only treatments and control but
who knows what the
future will hold with the speed of science and
medicine.
best wishes and take care
kcn.

Both your advice and your encouragement are deeply,
deeply appreciated. Thank you!

Hi kcn,
I've been back to the doctors and she agreed to let me try Dixarit which I
have now been using for about a week. At first it seemed to help with the
flushing (although made me a bit light headed) but now I'm not so sure
after
a major flush the other day in a restaurant. I'm on quite a low dose at
the
moment so maybe it would be better to increase it but I'm not so keen on
messing around with my blood pressure. The metronidazole creme and aloe
gel
haven't really make the redness or irritation any better but at least it
hasn't got worse. I have notices some scaling on my cheaks and so suspect
I
probably have seb derm as well (doh!) so any tips you have on this would
be
appreciated. I've got an appointment to see the dermatologist on the 4th
of
May, around 16 weeks after asking for one so my opinion of the NHS has
plummeted somewhat!
Thanks for listening,
Mick

Hi Mick Great to hear of you again - I'm enclosing a copy of the latest
instructions I send with orders - I stopped using metronidazole a couple of
months ago and only use the Aloe Vera gel, moisturiser and cleanser far be
it for me to advise you to stop using your prescribed metronidazole but you
may wish to experiment if you see what I mean. Try some of the suggestions
in the enclosed advise and do let me know if it's of any use. I expect
Dixarit to be a low dosage drug that will build up in your blood stream over
a couple of weeks or so and then you should see more benefit, I know it's
difficult but stick in - if not do discuss dosage with you Doc - never
dismiss a treatment until you are sure you have been trying a sufficient
dosage (imagine if paracetomol came in 5mg tablets they would be useless -
we would dismiss them and miss out on a very useful drug).

I found the Aloe Vera very good for Seb Derm - it even got rid of a rash in
a place that hasn't seen the light of day for some time! hehe. Your Doc may
prescribe something like Daktarin which shouldn't aggravate your rosacea but
is greasy so makes your face appear a bit more "glowy".

Check for info at www.gsm.com and www.medscape.com about Dixarit (clonidine)
they may be able to point you towards better dosages etc.

Remember I'm always here if you need to chat Mick.
best wishes and take care
kcn.

I have had minor rosacea for about 6 years (just reddening of
cheeks/nose)which generally occurrs for a week every 3 months or so. In
the
last 6 months it has become more severe and more frequent- with many small
pustules (the face becoming viciously red and itchy), which now also
spread
down the neck and behind the ears.

I have so far not taken any treatment, being allergic to many antibiotics.
I have read in the Sunday Times magazine this weekend that there may be a
link to digestive disorders - and they recommend trying L-glutamine
tablets
- has anyone tried these?

Another recommendation for treatment of rosacea in general is taking a
form
of vitamin C called Ester-C (up to 1g a day) together with grapeseed
extract
(200mg 3 times a day) - again has anyone tried these?

I would like to treat this in a natural way. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.

Hi yes you will see from the readers emails (and I know it's difficult with
a slow connection to read them all on the world wide wait) that some people
have tried, no one has reported good results yet as I recall but anything is
worth a try, I tried it of course (tried everything) and never had any
benefit. If you wish to try something with a greater (though not
guaranteed) chance of success - I really do recommend the 3 Natural Aloe
Vera products I have started selling in the past couple of weeks you will
see on the home page now others are having the same success as I am having -
my face has been so pale the past couple of days I look positively
unhealthy! hehe, another thing to try for those who think digestive troubles
are at the root of rosacea (I do not they are perhaps a trigger though) is
betaine supplements. It is always best to see your Doctor for correct
diagnosis even if you do not wish to use prescribed medication.
best wishes and take care
kcn.

I was wondering if you ever had anyone suffer from depression and or
tiredness while taking minocycline? Thank you for responding....Susan

I have heard of it - you may find more info at www.gsm.com or
www.medscape.com
best wishes and take care
kcn.

My daughter has gotten off of it.....she seems to feel much better
now...We
are trying a natural approach to the acne vulgaris problem supplemented by
vitamins,
etc. and better eating habits. i love pen pals....I agree, anytime you
can
help someone else, it spreads the joy...Susan

Don't forget treatments like benzoyl peroxide or the antibiotic erythromycin
topical gel a combination of both is benzamycin it can make the skin dry and
red in the short term before bringing good results the Aloe Products I have
while not a treatment for acne vulgaris are a good skin care regimen that should help
with the inflammation and dryness that accompanies so many acne vulgaris treatments.
It certainly sounds as though your daughter will be happier with a non
systemic treatment ie something applied to the skin.
Thanks for keeping in touch

Thank you so much for responding to my e-mail I really appreciate it!

Its a pleasure let me know what you find out and have you thought of
replying to a pen pal? A problem shared is a problem halfed as they say.

Hi There,

I am wondering how Aloe Vera mix with
sunscreen, or, is there sunscreen already present
inthe gel, moisturizer?

Also, in one of your previous posts you had asked for
feedback on Photoderm therapies. I had 5 sessions
last year and on the plus side it did wonders for my
skin tone and acne vulgaris and helped a bit with the redness,
although not as much as I would have liked. I think
I'm an exception though because red is a natural part
of my skin tone which of course makes dealing with
this rosacea thing all the more fun! I've heard from
others though that this can be quite an effective
treatment for rosacea and highly encourage anyone
sufering from it to consult with a qualified
dermatologist.

By all means though, make sure the doctor has
experience treating rosacea. My first
session was a nightmare because my doctor didn't
understand my skin sensitivities and I literally had
to hide for a week until the scars went away.
Great website by the way, are you still
postinge-mails?

Tricia

Hi Tricia thank you for your info yes I'm still posting all emails I get -
I'll put yours on sometime next week when I have time to update the site -
I'm pretty busy at work in the next few weeks! You will need a seperate
sunscreen from the Aloe Vera products (good sunscreens are something else I
need more input from readers on!)
Just apply your sun screen over the Aloe Products, I always recommend a
broad brimmed has too. Really a good idea would be to have seperate pages
on the site for things like photoderm - ahum another job to get round to!
best wishes and take care
kcn.

Thank you so much for responding. I will definately try your Aloe products. Do you (or most sufferers) end up using prescription medication regularly? I have another question. Lately my face seems hot. My friend says that that is what causes the disease not a symptom. Now though I feel more rashy than hot. Is this is a symptom to have a hot face, just rashy or...?

Once again thank you so much for your site you are indeed a beacon of light in the dark.

Arash

Hi Arash

I used metronidazole and tetracycline I found metronidazole ok for the spots but made my face redder - others who write in are not happy with prescribed medication but of course some things work for some and not for others that is why it is important never to give up and to try different treatments while avoiding trigger factors. Keeping a methodical diary and recording results of your experimentations is very useful. I don't use any prescribed medication now since using the Aloe Vera products - I always found that avoiding the triggers was more effective than metronidazole but now using Aloe I don't have to be quite as fussy - the point is when your rosacea is at its worst it reacts aggressively to all triggers when you can get it under control using Aloe and avoiding triggers your skin becomes less, not completely, but less sensitive to triggers - anyway I've rambled on so much I've forgotten you question lol hehe. Oh yes the rash or hot face question it's a bit of a chicken and egg question or a snowball rolling down a mountain side question gathering impetus and more and more snow becoming bigger and bigger and bigger - without knowledge and information and treatment rosacea can (doesn't have to but can) be a self feeding frenzy whereby you get a hot face from some trigger the hot face further causes inflammation which causes flushing and spots and the lymphatic system gets squeezed lymph fluid leaks under the skin causing wheals and bumps from the slightest exposure to a trigger - they take an hour to appear and weeks to go soon your face is disfigured, you go to your Doctors and she gives you some antibiotics and suggest you keep away from hot drinks she doesn't know why - (god I remember it well) so you sit there depressed, knowing that the sun or cold or your work conditions, a hot bath, god knows what else are setting you off you don't know what to eat you know some things set it off but what? you can't work it out, you don't know what to do, you daren't do anything because it seems to set it off - (the depths of despair and fear I felt when my rosacea was at it's worst is why I started this site) Anyway the sheets of info I provide with each Aloe order should have you controlling the bloody disease and get you sorted (no guarantees but I sincerely hope so).

best wishes and take care

kcn.

I am an SLE (systemic lupus erythematosis) sufferer with a rare blood clotting disorder on long term steroid therapy who has developed rosacea. As I am on warfarin too I am not a suitable candidate for antibiotic therapy. Could you please keep me informed of any developments or advice. I have also had a premature menopause with attendant flushing.

Carole

Hi Carole thank you very much for writing. Yes sle crosses my mind when people write in that is why it is essential everyone checks with their medical professional before self treatment. Check with your Doctor and see if you are able to use Aloe Vera therapy - some people mistakenly think that because a product is "alternative, natural, herbal, holistic and other such buzz words" that it is not a drug and is completely without side effects this is simply not true if something like Aloe Vera works and it undoubtedly does for many then it is altering the body chemistry and IS a drug albeit one that has been used for thousands of years and if their are detrimental effects I haven't heard of any but the possibility is there - so please check with your Doctor never the less. Can you take Dixarit for the flushing? Although I find flushing 90% reduced using Aloe Vera - Dixarit is very successful in some cases it is thought to act as a blood vessel sedative - will this interfere with your other medication - I would do some checks on the internet before seeing your General Practitioner (UK family Doctor) try www.gsm.com and www.medscape.com . Let me know how you get on.

best wishes and take care

Hi there,
I have been reading with interest your web page. I have had rosacea for
about 14 months now, and have a G.P. who isn't very interested. I also read an e-mail on your site, from someone whose rosacea was greatly aggravated from being in the sun. Like them, I also am going to The
Dominican Republic on the 20th Feb., and am desparately looking for advice
at this late date! How I wish I knew about you sooner. Can you advise re
suntan lotion etc, as I am new to this situation. I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
M.

Now where’s my reply gone Doh! kcn.

Please keep me on your mailing list!!. I use metrogel daily and tried the new plexion wash, but the wash irritates my skin.my rosacea is mild and i am aware of the trigger factors. I try to take very good care of myself. I am 34 and got rosacea after the birth of my 3rd child. This was 4 years ago. Nobody really knows, except my husband , that i continually struggle with this condition. Thanks!!

Lisa

I'll gladly add you to the ever growing list!

I am 33 years old and I think I may have rosacea, although I haven't been to the doctor for diagnosis. I suffer from a few of the same symptoms that I have read about from others...easily flushed, redness of the face.

The part of my face that seems to be affected the most is the area of skin above my upper lip. It gets very dry and scaly at times. Sometimes I get red splotches there that seem almost raw. Moisturizing lotions help and the splotches will completely clear up sometimes. But, they are definitely triggered by alcohol, wind, and sun. I haven't heard anyone complain about this area of the face bothering them with rosacea. I've mostly heard about the cheeks and forehead being problem areas. Does this sound like rosacea to you?

Thanks, Tex

It is definitely sounds like it you may also have dermatitis your Doctor may prescribe metronidazole and tetracyline but as you can see from the emails I get many are unhappy with the results. I've been using Aloe Vera products for a few weeks and after 25 years of rosacea I can honestly say I'm not bothered with my skin anymore - I've been selling the products from the site for a couple of weeks and as you can see am beginning to get very favourable reports so although there is no guarantee my advise is to try them for your rosacea and Dermatitis.

best wishes and take care

Dear sir,

I am a therapist trained in Massage & Lymphatic Drainage.

I recently treated a client with acne vulgaris-rosacea with MLD (Manual Lymphatic Drainage) with great success.

The client had suffered with acne vulgaris-rosacea for about two years.

It took about 15 half hour sessions to clear it almost completely. the last treatment was just over two months ago and there has been no return of the problem since then.

MLD is a very gentle form of massage, which targets the Lymphatic system.Unfortunately it is not well known in this country.

In acne vulgaris-rocacea it brings very good results in the initial stages.

It CANNOT influence the telangiectasia (localised collection of distended blood capillary vessels),or remove existing rhinophyma (craggy swelling in the nose, usually associated with men). However with good skin care, MLD can be very effective.

I hope this information can be of help to you and your readers.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistance.

Yours, Adrian Goodall.

Where are you based Adrian would you like to add an address or email to you letter so readers can contact you?regards

Hi,
I have lots of little red spots in the back of my arms. They look like
tiny pimples and they never seem to go away. Would you know what this
is and what I can do to cure it?
I know this is fairly common. I've noticed a lot of people have them.
They're very unsightly. They look like red splotches from afar because
there are so many of them. I can't even wear sleeveless blouses because
they are really ugly and they seem to be getting worse.
Thank you
Annette

Hi Annette I really cannot tell from what you say sorry my best advice is to
pluck up the courage and go and see your Doctor will you let me know what
your Doctor says? Your info may help others in the same situation. Your
Doctor may prescribe treatment but if you feel an alternative natural
approach appropriate why not try the Aloe Vera products I sell they seem to
work for all sorts of skin conditions they have got rid of my rosacea
symptoms are helping my wife’s acne vulgaris and when my son had chicken pox recently
I plastered his face with the stuff and his face cleared about a week before
his body (he had the spots for 3 weeks) he still has the red marks all over
his body but none on his face - I wanted to take photos and put them on the
site but he told me where to get off hehe.

Gentleman:

Besides the redness around the nose and eyebrows, is there any flaking of the skin?

Thank you,

Chuck

Well the "Specialist" at my local hospital told me years ago that there isn't any flaking with rosacea but as you will see from the correspondence on the site there certainly can be - I think one of the testimonials on the homepage mentions the Aloe Vera products clearing his or her flakiness. It has not been one of my major symptoms I've always put it down to dead skin cells being shed as the skin regenerates - I find it after a flare up and the patches heal again.

I am interested in buying aloe vera capsules.

do you sell it?

what it the package like (quantity)?

what is the price?

thanks

Milka

Hi Milka I was going to sell them but I found so much success with the topical treatments (cleanser, moisturiser and gel) that I thought they were unnecessary for rosacea sufferers - undoubtedly they will have other health benefits and I will probably stock them in the future and look forward to trying them myself but if your problem is rosacea I would try the other Aloe Vera products I sell.

kcn.

Did you have any ideas about moisturizers as the metrogel and aloe are really drying and make my skin peel now. I would be grateful if you knew a brand or indeed where to get it. Thanks so much for your help.

Mandy

Hello again Mandy funnily enough I sell an Aloe vera moisturiser at a very reasonable price even though I do say so myself hehe – the flakiness is unlikely to be from the metrogel or Aloe but a symptom of the condition itself.

I'm not sure what my skin problem is, but I would like to find out so
that I can take control of the problem. My T-zone is always red. I
have had this problem pretty much all of my life. The redness does not
go away and is not triggered by blushing. However, it is easily covered
with make-up. Recently, I have been experiencing slight acne vulgaris problems
as well. This has caused my checks to be red as well. Most of the acne vulgaris
is now under control, but the slight scars on my face, which are also
easily covered with make-up, have caused constant redness on my
checks. I am only 21 so I want to avoid any kind of surgery. Do you
know of a good dermatologist I could consult about this issue? I live
in the Memphis, TN area. Please e-mail me back

Hi Jenny it does sound like rosacea is a definite possibility the usual
prescribed medication is metronidazole topical gel or tetracyline
antibiotics as you will see from my site many are disillusioned with this
treatment and a good alternative approach is the Aloe Vera products that I
sell - I've only been using them since the new year but they sort out my
redness and spots and I've been selling them for a couple of weeks on the
site and as you can see I am getting good reports back from others so why
not give Aloe Vera a try? there are no guarantees no one treatment for any
disease works for all but it has worked wonders for many. I cannot point
you to a dermatologist I'm afraid I don't have any lists - in the UK we see
our family Doctors and he/she sends us to a specialist as appropriate (we
also don't pay for treatment as it is paid through taxes (although we can
wait for months to see a specialist)) anyway let me know how you get on
won't you.

Hi,

I have had rosacea for about 3 years now and I am only 19. I am seeing a
Dermatologist and I have tried creams firstly, then the flushing tablets
(nothing worked) and now he is trying to get me in touch with a specialist
for the operation. I have a girlfriend and she knows about it obviously!
But
she is really nice about it and understands.
Its just that I am going up to stay with her and her parents for a week
next
month and I don't know how they will react. I really hate meeting people
for
the first time because they think I am a freak or ask loads of questions
which makes me flush even more! At college everybody knows I have a red
face
and says nothing. But I get very aggressive when people make comments. I
was
in a pub last week with my girlfriend and this man made a comment about me
being so red and I just flipped and got into a fight and got chucked out!!

Do you have any tips on how to deal with these situations? Should I ask my
girlfriend to tell her family and friends?
Could u send ur answer to me by E-mail as well as if u decide to put this
on
your web page
Many Thanks

Hi great of you to write. I know exactly what you mean and your reactions
are perfectly understandable - the best way is to explain plain and simple
"if you're wondering why I have such a red face it's because I have a skin
complaint called rosacea one of the symptoms is the blood vessels get
dilated for a variety of reasons and I get a red face - heat, cold, wind,
certain foods or just for no reason makes my face red" or whatever fits in
with the way you speak of course there are some assholes you wouldn't want
to explain yourself to anyway - I know I've been there. I have my
consultation soon for the ets operation but I don't know if I'm going to go
ahead with it because this Aloe Vera stuff is working so well - why don't
you give it a try - there are no guarantees but I'm pleased to say others
are beginning to give me good reports now too. And do get your girlfriend
to explain ahead of time to friends and famil - I have a brother in law who
has never mentioned rosacea but he gets a very red face when he's been
chatting for a while (like I used to) he is in the customs and goes around
the world searching for smugglers etc well when your talking to him he is so
confident and doesn't even allude to it at all that you really don't notice
the red face - so there are the two polarised views explain it, ignore it
confidently, joke about it if you are able (I know it is not easy). Let me
know how you get on at the parents.

Hi,
My name is Michael brown and i've had rosacea for the past 5
years. My face flushes from stress, spicy foods, alcohol, hot and cold
temps, warm drinks, etc...I'm curious to learn about the the Pure Biogenic Aloe
vera Gel...Can you please send me info? Also , do you know anything about
the IPL, PHotoderm or V-Beam laser treatments for this problem?
Thank you...sincerely Michael

Hi Michael thank you for writing. Well your symptoms certainly
fit the profile as you know. The Aloe Vera products I sell on the site
have rid me of 90% of my rosacea symptoms in the few weeks I have been
using them - no one treatment works for all individuals so there are no
guarantees it will work for you, it may not. It is certainly less radical and
expensive than the other treatments you mention. I have no personal
experience of the other treatments to pass on but you will find them mentioned by
correspondents in the readers email pages.

Hi kcn--Thanks for your response--it is much appreciated.
I do have some concerns primarily because I was instructed never to send
cash or money orders to a PO Box. What country are you in? England?
I AM interested in the product and quite frankly,$38.50 US is not an
overwhelming price but could you give me a tel # of someone I can phone
and
an address that is not a Po Box? It would be greatly appreciated.
Also, could you tell me how long this aloe vera gel took to work for you
and
for how long $38.50 worth lasts?
Thanks, sincerely Michael

Hi Mike thank you for writing I've had to put the price up to $43 after a
rather shocking transaction slip from the bank and the amount of commission
they charge for currency conversion and also I underestimated the cost of
postage to the states! it has been costing me money to send some of the
parcels for the last two weeks ouch my wife was NOT happy (I’ve still got the black eye! Hehe only joking – just! lol). The products take about 3 weeks to show improvement and the gel lasts for about a month,
the moisturiser and cleanser much longer. I appreciate your concerns about
the PO box on the other hand I have concerns for my privacy and my families
security there are a lot of weird people out there! I am not a major
company but run the website in my spare time when I am not working
(speaking of which I'll have to go – I’ve just had breakfast and I’m going to be late!) and I run it from my home and I'm afraid I cannot give out my personal details for the $5 dollars profit I make on a full
order sorry. Why not just order the gel it is the main treatment and as I
make $1.50 on the order it is not a major internet scam! nor am I likely to
be able to give up my day time job this side of the next century lol.
cheers
kcn.

Hi kcn...I understand your point of view--thanks for the reply.
I read some positive messages about your product on your web-site. I will
order it!
Thanks again...Michael

Hi I was just diagnosed with rosacea. My doctor gave me the tradtional cream, and I put it on and it made me worse. Now I am starting to wonder if the prescriptions are just a way of making money for the drug company and they dont work. I will probably be taking the oral ones next. Also there seems to be a huge difference in what people experiance when they have rosacea, how long does it take for my rosacea to reach plateau and when will I know if I am the person who is going to be effected heavily of lightly?

Thank you for your site.

Arash

Hi Arash funny you should say that about drug companies - ever done a search on the internet search engines for rosacea and what adverts come up Galdermas advertising Metorgel they also make Rosex the same treatment different name! Do you know how much an ad on a major search engine costs?? no well neither do I lol but I bet it's a lot. It is impossible to say how your condition will progress mine never got any worse over 25 years although it certainly was bad enough to give me clinical depression I now have success with the Aloe products I have started selling in the past couple of weeks I advise you to try them there is no guarantee but you must try different treatments until you find one that works for you. Thank you for your kind comments.

kcn,

Hows it going? Its me Brent again, just thought Id check in with you and ask u a few things. I finally got your aloe vera about 2 weeks ago.. Its working wonders on the redness of my face. Its rarely got flushed, and hasnt got majorly flushed, except for when I work out.. I got one problem though, seems like my acne vulgaris is getting worse lately. I doubt its from the Aloe Vera.. Im thinking it might be from using an electric razor. I just recently started using one about a month ago. Its mainly really bad around my mouth and chin. I dont know what to do, I swear this stuff will never go away. Anyways I guess my question is do u think I should just continue taking tetracycline(been using it for 2 yrs), and applying the Aloe Vera gel? I was thinking about when it gets warmer starting to use acne vulgaris medication again, such as neutrogena benzoyl peroxide 2.5 %. The reason being is my rosacea only acts up when its cold , weird huh?? The only time it acts up in summer is when im in the sun for long periods of time. Other than that it only acts up during winter months. I guess everyones different huh. Well , I guess im gonna go , Ive probably complained enough for you. I wanna tell you I do apreciate your advice, I respect it, and I think its really great to have somebody to talk with about this stuff(rather than a stupid doctor with perfect complexion. lol). Anyways write back when u have time..

Brent

ps How are u doing? Still good I hope?? Im glad u finally found a solution after all those years = ) oh yeah I would still like to be put on the pen pal list if at all possible.

Hey Brent great to hear off you again I'm back from work - I've been painting an old dears bathroom phewww! if you know what I mean! still you've got to earn a living eh? Thanks for your comments it's really great to talk to you too! and my sodding Doctors are useless as well. It is normal for the winter months to aggravate your rosacea it works that way with me too. I would stick to the electric razor as the alternative of wet shaving is much too aggravating - or why not grow a beard like me? I just started at Christmas and now I look like a mountain man or so every bugger I meet keeps pointing out lol. I wouldn't use benzoyl peroxide because that will set your rosacea off again. Your acne vulgaris is definitely nothing to do with the Aloe stuff but my guess is that the bacteria on your face has become resistant to your antibiotic that you've been on for 2 years - so get back to your Doc and ask for another perhaps try erythromycin cream if the problem is just around your mouth or Clindamycin antibiotic. And I'll tell you something your not half as pleased as I am that I've found a solution after all these miserable years - let me know what you want put on the pen pals page something like "gorgeous hunk will put himself out to stud for babes with loads of money" will do nicely lol =)

Another question. i read that Vitamin K is great for rosecea and dark circles under the eyes. i used some gel with it in but it is way too harsh. Just putting it underneath my eyes made them stream... and made my skin sting like mad.

Are there any benefits to taking Vitamin K or Vitamin E orally instead? i read a beauty tip that to burst open a vitamin E capsule and apply directly

to face would help, but it just made my skin even redder. Is pure aloe gel better than pure vitamin E lotion or shoud they be combined?

i am sick of spending so much money on products that dont work....ie Estee Lauder,Elizabeth Arden, Clinique... and ive since found that the cheaper more natural products from health food shops arent miracle

products, but they are certainly better than the 'big names'. Has anyone tried 'Fade Out' (by Fine Fragrances and Cosmetics) Facial Redness Remedy?

its ok but a little drying. I dont know whether to persevere. i have tried it on and off for a few months but it claims

to reduce the redness by then but it hasnt made any difference. I am still continuing the search i have had since my teens (im now 29) for the miracle product that will not only soothe

but also make my skin look normal enough to skip the makeup...and would prevent major flareups too.

The other thing is ..i am convinced i have ocular roseacea. it has been the bane of my life for yrs. but i cant to anything to alleviate it, and

my doctor has been no help. it is also very hard to find out information. if anyone has any i would be extremely grateful.

thanks . Laura ps. i also read that a new more widely available range has been specially developed for rosecea sufferers...only available in selected chemists..has anyone

tried this.i forget the name. they sounded pretty expensive...over £20 for a cleanser.

Hi Laura we'll see if any one can help on your questions. I advise that you try the products I sell it's only been a couple of weeks but already very good results are coming in and for me I thank god that I found them. Ask your Doctor about loteprednol steroidal eyedrops more info at www.gsm.com

im a sixteen yr old irish teenager and have been suffering from acne vulgaris for about 2 years. I have tried an antibiotic roll on about a year ago which was useless. I also have had no success with tea tree oil products. At present i am using Wrights soap it is a mixture of tar and something else. It cleans the skin well but it leaves bad dried skin after it. At present my acne vulgaris is not as bad as it used to be. I can have good weeks and bad weeks. This week is certaintly a bad week but i am at home sick with heavy tonsilitis and on strong medication. A lot of my spots i feel are red marks under my skin. They look like spots but my skin is smooth overneath. Help please?

Hi thank you for writing. acne vulgaris is not a thing that should be treated by over the counter products you must see your Doctor whom I'm afraid may not take you very seriously at first but after you have pestered them enough they will - if not see a different Doctor. Always tell your Doctor perhaps in a written note (give it to him/her at the consultation) how your skin problem affects your life, socially, emotionally etc they will then take you more seriously. Try different treatments use them exactly as prescribed give them time and if they don't work get another treatment - plenty of info on the site. Let me know how you get on.

just been reading the latest comments...thought i'd add a bit more. The reason i mentioned Rimmel before, is that it doesnt contain pink pigments and stays put

even through workouts! and then you look just like you have a rosy glow rather than roseacea! another tip is..dont ever wear blusher (does that go without

saying!?) and dont wear a lighter colour foundation in an attempt to disguise redness..it wont work you'll just look ill. Match your skin tone and then

cover the worst areas with concealer. Finish with a transparent powder. If your skin is dry, use pressed. the only one that works for me is Max Factor,

cos it contains vitamin E and really stays put too.

I have heard Dermablend is very good...has anyone tried it?? I want to try it but it is very expensive. If it looks totally invisible i'd like to give it a go though.

It is usually used to disguise birthmarks.

the only problem is that Rimmel is not so good on the drier areas.

Another thing..i got some pure aloe vera gel from a shop and it does help but i cant use it all the time. It makes my skin feel so tight,(to the

point of being uncomfortable) how

come it feels like this when its meant to be moisturising? however it can be used under makeup..its light enough..but i have to use stronger moisturisers

on the dry areas. can you tell me more about your gel which contains vitamin e as well as aloe. will this combat the tight dry feeling?

Anyway..this is a great site and i wish i'd come across it years ago. I've just got through the whole of winter without using any heating in my bedroom,

cos heating triggers off flareups..my skin looks ok ish with makeup but i hate having to wear it every day. I get really paranoid about my skin. People tell

me i'm pretty but when you have rosecea you dont believe it do you. I would just like to be totally natural..not have to cover up. ive started drinking aloe juice

too..how long does it take to notice a change (if any?)

good luck to everyone suffering this affliction. I know its not like having a major disease or disability and we should count ourselves lucky, but non sufferers

dont understand how it can ruin your self confidence and make you depressed.

Laura

Hi Laura that is excellent info on make up and I shall pass it on thank you for taking the time to help others - I'm going to do a page of "just email tips". Persevere with the Aloe gel it doesn't make your skin dry it just feels tight which is completely different! The moisturiser I sell is proving very popular - improvement should be in about 3 weeks. Thank you for your kind comments.

Hi Im Mandy 34yrs from Surrey. My doc has just mentioned that he thinks I've got rosacea but after reading this and other sites on the subject Im not completely convinced. I've got the itching in other areas not just on chin and jaw line, like fingers, back of knees and inside arms back of neck and scalp. Can you have it anywhere on your body?? He has prescribed Metrogel and Ive used it for a few days only but it stings like hell so I've gone out and bought aloe vera gel and used it for a day it also stings like hell is there anything that doesn't sting??? Please let me know I'm desparate for some relief. The itching is sending me insane. My doc won't see me again for 3 wks when he will decide whether he should refer me to a Dermatologist or not. I've got two kids to take to and from school and can't bear to go out of the house looking like this, not even to be able to wear make-up to cover it up because is stings so much. Should I use a moisturizer (the gel seems to tighten and dry too much) and where can I get a moisturizer or indeed any cosmetic that does not contain all the endless list of irritants like alcohol etc. I can't use anything but aloe and medication now for fear of making it worse. Im suspicious of the medications as the doc told me hydrocortisone and elecon steriod cream was safe to use every other day, can you believe I fell for that one. It kills me to think what I have done to myself, making it worse, what I have been using for what I was told was eczema and what is contained in those innocent little tubes. Please help anyone!!!

Hi Mandy don't beat yourself up about what ifs life is a constantly changing medium and we need to adapt fluidly to the twists and turns it takes. You are of course correct do not use steroids on your face if you have rosacea. It is common for Metrogel to produce some stinging. Aloe Vera may also feel as though it is causing slight stinging for a couple of days at most try applying it for a short while and then rinsing off. rosacea would not usually cause the itching sensations on other areas of your body that you describe although rosacea can rarely affect any area of the body it is said. My guess and no more than that is that you have a condition or conditions other than and perhaps in addition to rosacea - has your Doctor ruled out other illnesses? I would insist on seeing your Doctor again and if you can afford it make a private appointment for a dermatologist with your Doctor about £75 in the UK. Other illnesses may cause itching as you describe and if your Doctor is not taking you seriously why not see another in the practice? Please let me know how you get on.

I have had rosacea I believe for about 4 years now. I am fixing
to be 28 years old in a few months and I have been using a product that I
had ordered off the web called rosacea LTD III. I has been almost six
weeks since I've been using this product. I really do not think it is
helping me that much. As a matter a fact, I think that my skin is as red
or more since I've been using this. I've used metrogel cream for a
couple of years after my dermatologists prescribed it to me. It seemed
to really help in the beginning but after six or seven months, my face
went back to being redder than usual. When I was young, I was a
lifeguard and could tan really well on my face on always had a very nice
olive complexion on my body and my face. It was not until I became about
22 or 23, that I noticed I could not tan very well on my face anymore. My
body could still get really dark but my face would get red, I was always
wearing 50 proof Banana Boat Sunscreen. The majority of my life, I have
always had a pretty nice complexion and having this redness constantly on
my cheeks really depresses me. I am a salesperson for Sysco Foodservice
and are constantly in front of my customers majority of my day. My skin
is not terribly red, it is just a little redder than I would like it to
be. I have visited your website a few times and am very interested in
possibly trying out your skin care regimen!! Please E-mail me back with
any additional information you might have for me at this time. I really
would like to get my face back close to the way it used to be. Thank You
So Much.

Matt

Hi Matt yep a typical story I'm afraid. I don't know exactly what the
rosacea 3 stuff is but someone emailed me with details from another website
and the product was sulphur based which is a common acne vulgaris treatment now
supersceded by other treatments - I'm sure it will work for some people
unfortunately there is no treatment in the world that works for any
condition for all people and that means trying different ones and seeing
what is best for you - I certainly recommend the Aloe Vera products I sell
because they have done wonders for me and I am getting good feedback from
other consumers too - they are inexpensive but if you can only afford one
use the gel.

Hi,

My name is Michelle and I'm 18. When I was in my early teens I did not have acne vulgaris as such, other than a few pimples. However, by 16 I had developed acne vulgaris on my back and some on my face. I went to the doctor and she prescribed these pills which were impossible to take. I had to take four a day for 10 days and then 2 a day for three weeks following. The problem was that in order for the pills to work, I could not eat an hour before and two-three hours after taking the pill. Needless to say I gave up after two-three weeks. Nothing happened as a result of the pills. I have always been a high stress person-even in my early teens so I am not sure why suddenly in my later teens I would develop acne vulgaris. Now the acne vulgaris has spread to my chest and neck. I also seem to have more acne vulgaris on my face-mostly on my chin and forehead-(always in the same places). I have not tried anything yet to counter it other than neutrogena body wash or facial cleanser-however they seem to do nothing. Please help me! I know it seems as though I haven't tried to cure it very well but I don't want to spend money on worthless products until I know that they have results. Is there anything u would recommend? Also, is it normal to get acne vulgaris on your back or chest?? I feel as though I can never go swimming or wear a tank top for fear of my back showing. My face is much clearer than my back (which seems covered) and my chest.

This problem has deeply affected my self-esteem and to get rid of it or at least to lessen it would be very, very helpful!

Please e-mail me if u have a chance-

Thanks,

Michelle

Hi Michelle thank you very much for writing it's great to hear off you. Your doctor has probably prescribed tetracyline antibiotics they are a systemic antibiotic suitable for treating the acne vulgaris you get on your face, chest and back (it is perfectly usual to get acne vulgaris on the chest and back). Tablets may be more suitable for you at present because a topical lotion ie one you put on the skin is going to be awkward to apply to the affected areas. There are other antibiotics that have to be taken less frequently and are not so effected by meals etc go back to your Doctor and tell him/her about your problems taking the antibiotics and then give the medication a good try for a few weeks if you then see no improvement go back and try another treatment - you will also find many examples of people having good results by browsing the site. Let me know how you get on and don't much store in over the counter products acne vulgaris should be treated by a professional.

Hi, I recently went to the dermatologist and he told me that all I have is acne vulgaris. I really think I have rosacea because from what I have read I have all the symptoms. The doctor told me that he didn't think I had it because I'm a Hispanic woman and am olive complected although I am pretty fair. I am 37 years old and have never suffered from acne vulgaris. Now I have symptoms around the nose and cheeks including acne vulgaris-like pimples on my nose that regular acne vulgaris medication seems to be irritating it rather than helping it. Any way if you can offer any advice, I would greatly appreciate it be4 it gets any worse. Thanks for your help and the info on your great site. (also any tests they run for rosacea???)

Thanks, Lisa

Hiya I think your Dermatologist is mistaken and you are correct, it does sound like rosacea to me. There are no tests unfortunately. All of us have a mixed gene pool in our ancestry we may have some characteristics from any race around the globe if it has been "introduced" to our families even in the distant past so to say you are from one group or another and then dismiss a disease on that basis is ridiculous. You can discuss metronidazole, tetracycline etc with your dermatologist - and I certainly recommend the Aloe Vera regime I sell if you can not afford the 3 items choose the gel alone but do try it and follow the instructions I send with it.

What can I do about burning of face and neck? Am already using Metrocream, tetricyclene, sunscreen, gentle skin cleanser and avoiding sun, etc. Can go weeks/months without a flareup, and then am in pain for seemingly no reason.

It sounds as though you have very sensitive skin so I would recommend you try just the Aloe Vera products I sell and follow the instructions I enclose with it - if it works for you as it has for me you will be very pleased with the results. I was unable to even tolerate water on my face without increasing the redness and so I just washed when I had to get rid of the dead skin cells now I wash twice a day using the Aloe Vera products!

Hi kcn,

Thanks for your advice you sent to me a while back. it was around the time
you suggested make up concealer. I "timidly" suggested this to my wife who
happily applied liquid foundation. This helped a little but I felt this did
not give the correct appearance. Then my wife produced a concealer stick by
Yves St laurent called Touche eclat. It is expensive (approx £20) but the
appearance is fantastic and now whenever I put it on nobody knows i have
either rosacea or makeup. I even told my closest friends recently and they
didn't even realise, thinking my rash had simply disappeared. As a normal
hetrosexual 29 year old to put make up on was a big step, but i can honestly
say it has improved my self confidence immensely.

Tip - always moisturise fully and allow to soak in before applying the
concealer.

Anyway, thats all for now - i am due to see the dermatologist tomorrow and
will let you know how i get on.

Best regards

Steve

Steve that is excellent my man - I shall put your info on a new page I'm starting of helpful hints - cheers mate your info will help a lot of people.

Please let me know of any recommendations of brands of make up which won't irritate rosacea. I have just discovered from my dermatologist that i have rosacea and am very daunted at the prospect of going to every single make up counter under the sun just to find a brand that will not irritate it and is affordable.

Many thanks.

Hey, I was wondering if you could maybe email that list you send with each shipment of Aloe. I just recently purchased Aloe vera off ya, but i didnt get the list. It would be of great help to see what foods and lifestyle changes u recomend. I hope alcohol is on the ok list. *wink* *wink*. LOL Anyways, your 2 cool kcn. Later

hi

It's me again (probably can't remember - but hey :-) )
Still haven't gone to the doctors.
I did some of the things that you suggested - cutting out dairy products,
stopped using that bastard lanolin stuff, exercise..........etc AND IT
WORKED :-).............
.............. for about 10 days! now it's back with a vengeance! -
why?!??!!

I was just wondering whether that aloa vera stuff helps get rid of the spots
or is it just a moisturiser?
I'm now hoping that it is just stress from the A levels - don't have exams
for about 10 weeks, but the amount of course work that I have to do.........
and catch up on is shocking!
ggrrrrrrrrrrr
hey, does depression have something to do with it? - that could be it! -
only got about 4 months and then I can move out of depressing old england
and live a happy life doing nothing, and sleeping on beaches in mexico.
congratulations - you are now not only a "doctor" but a shrink too! :-)

Hi great to hear off you again of course I remember you very well and I'll
never forget you now thinking of those sun drenched beaches in Mexico - god
am I so JEALOUS! I can't help but agree with you it IS depressing here in
the grey cold damp winter uugh!. The excessive stress you are under can
lead to depression as we talked about earlier so take the possibility of
depression seriously and discuss it with your Doctor if (and I know these
symptoms from a few years ago well); you wake early in the morning with
feelings of dread or have other disturbed sleep patterns, you have a loss of
appetite and weight loss, suffer fatigue lack of energy, tearfullness for
more than a week, have suicidal thoughts no matter how small, have a loss of
libido (mind you isn't that just called marriage hehe only joking - ouch -
that was the wife hitting me!) any or all of these symptoms may lead a
Doctor to a diagnosis of depression - and it is very common in students
under pressure from examinations.

The Aloe Vera gel is excellent at getting rid of the spots it helps
immediately (ie a couple of days) with its antiinflammatory qualities the
spots just don't look as red and angry and then with regular use and
slapping it on big time on really bad spots (the deep painful ones) over
about 3 weeks it stops them forming and then an application twice a day
keeps the spots, redness, itching and redness away (that's my experience
anyway and others are writing in saying the same when they re-order the
stuff). The cleanser removes dead skin etc without irritating and the
moisturiser alleviates the slightly drying effect of the gel. Trigger
factors still have to be avoided and I've done a sheet that I send with each
order that has all the useful information on dietary, environmental and
lifestyle factors that I know about.
best wishes, take care and don't forget your sunscreen, and broad brimmed
hat!

Please add me to your mailing list. I have been a sufferer of rosacea
for three years and could use all the moral support I can get
Thank you for a wonderful web site
Jan Kenwright

Hi Jan thank you very much for your kind comments they make all the hard
work worthwhile! Have you considered replying to some of our penpals - a
problem shared is a problem halfed or is that halved? It really is great to
talk to others in the same boat it has done me a world of good setting up
this site - before last year I couldn't even talk about rosacea can you
believe it. And do try the Aloe Vera products I sell there is no guarantee
but they have worked for me and I cannot imagine my life without them (well
I can and it would involve major depression! big time!) now and I am getting
good reports back from others too.
best wishes and take care

Re: Your request for non-aggravating make-up, I have found Tescos Oil Free Foundation designed by Barbara Daly excellent, it feels light and has not irritated my condition. I have suffered occaisional cystic acne vulgaris flare-ups for the last five years, but now am 6-months into a stress-induced mother of all flare-ups that has completely disfigured one side of my face - on reading your website for the first time tonight I realise I also suffer rosacea on my nose. I have used the bottled foundation (it has an applicator attached to the inside of the lid) and my friends are amazed at how well I cover the "mess". Firstly I use it as a general foundation, and then use the applicator to dab a little on areas that need more cover and use a finger (clean of course) patting gently to blend. I hope this is of use. Gill that is brilliant thank you for taking the time to send the info in I shall pass it on.

Hi webmaster,

I was hoping for some advice before I purchase some of the Aloe Vera Gel.
For the last eighteen months or so, the skin on my face is becoming quite
red and blochy, it's not particularly bad and covers with make-up. But I
won't even pop to the corner shop without make-up on as I am quite
self-conscious about it. After reading your site I've realised that this
could quite possibly be rosacea, but I am taking medication, including the
pill, which I have also heard can affect your skin. I know your advice is
to see a doctor first, but as this means visiting the doctor with no
make-up on, I've been putting it off.
All I want to know is if it is worth me trying the Aloe Vera Gel anyway,
if it is not rosacea, can it damage my skin in any way, because for that
price I would rather give it a go before visiting my doctor.

Hope you can help,

Thanks, Wendy.

Hi Wendy and thank you for writing. My advice has to be as you said see
your Doctor for diagnosis and treatment - I know how hard it is when you
don't look your best - it's daft but we all have the same problem. I have
no negative reports for Aloe Vera but I am selling something mail order to
people whom I have never met and I am not qualified in medicine in anyway -
so even though I am getting positive reports from others and it has done me
wonders I'm afraid I have to say you try it at your own risk.

Hi kcn

Thanks for the idea of rinsing off the aloe vera gel I will give it a try for a while and yes I am in the process of trying to see a Dermatologist at the moment. I belong to a private health care plan but I still have to be referred by my doc unfortunately. He is the only one in his practice as the other doc is even more of a quack. That's the problem with NHS docs over here they like to put a bandaid on the problem, not much into finding the cause, like the US docs I was treated by when I was living in the US. I wish I could see one now they were all terrific. Graham

Apply leave for a while to let the healing properties absorb into the skin and then rinse off. kcn.

Dear kcn,

I'm pleased to say that your aloe vera gel tip is working really well.It took about 2 weeks to kick-in and take effect but my skin is now smooth and much improved with an absence of itching . I apply before bed and after washing in the morning.

I told my dermatologist who said 'yes, aloe vera will help as it has good powers for soothing/repairing the skin'. I do wonder with professionals !

Anyway keep up the excellent work.

Graham

Dear Webmaster,

Ive had problems with my acne vulgaris for around 5 years now and im
only 17. It has plagued my life and caused a lot of stress and a massive
loss of confidence on my part which affects me in so many different ways.
It
affects my love life and general confidence in goin out a lot i mean i go
out often but im always wary of things and tryin to get a job is made
harder
due to this also. I have had numerous treatments throughout my life for
this
problem but none of them have made a difference somer even making it
worse.
Although recently, i was put on a very strong set of tablets called
roaccutane and have just came off them. They have improved my complexion
no
ends up but i still feel that there is some way 2 go before it has
completely gone. You see it seems to me that cerrtain marks on my face and
chest in particular have been around for a while even years as if they
were
permenant scars or something. This is really annoying me and it seems
there
is only 1 other treatment that the doctor can provide and that is some
kind
of laser treatment. Have you ever heard of this and do you think this can
solve my long-running suffering? Please help me and reply soon this is
affecting me in so many different ways and all my friends who feel the
effects of my frustration! Thanx Webmaster!

David

Hiya David thank you for writing mate. First of all you are at an
incredible difficult time of life things are not easy for you at the moment
but they will get better given some time. We all understand exactly how you
feel we have all been there. My teens with acne vulgaris and rosacea devastated me
and have left emotional scarring that I probably will never get over - but
now I am happy and I realise my mistakes in the past of thinking that things
will never get better - they will. It sounds as though your Doctor has your
best interest at heart and to be put on isotretinoin you must have a serious
acne vulgaris problem. Laser treatment done by the right people can be effective for
acne vulgaris scarring - your doctor will refer you to a consultant ask how many
operations they have done, the success rate, the rate of complications, ask
to see satisfaction tables etc. Contact the acne vulgaris support group (asg) at
www.stopspots.org they will be able to give you more information on the
subject than I have - they are an excellent organisation. Let me know how
you get on - to me you are a hero battling the despair, fear and frustration
of a devastating desease be brave and battle on you WILL win in the end.
best wishes and take care
kcn.

You mentioned about niacin. Can you recommend any vitamins that do not have this in it? The ones I have been taking certainly do. So do all the breakfast cereals.

Does rosacea ever clear up completely? Mine just appeared one day and I put up with it for a month before going to the doctor.

If you have time to reply that would be great. I do want to keep taking vitamins as I am vegetarian.

Thanks

Sandra

Hi Sandra If you have a look in you local health food shop they should have FSC (that’s the manufacturer) vit b complex tablets that contain niacinamide in this is still vitamin b3 but doesn't cause the flushing niacin b3 does. Have a look at the other multivitamins and choose one with niacinamide.

Some do experience spontaneous remission but for most it is a chronic condition that some factors make worse and some things help so it is a matter of longer term control.

Drop me a line any time.

best wishes and take care

kcn..
