rosacea & acne vulgaris readers emails
Dear kcn
Please send me another ‘Complete Regimen’ pack (gel, moisturiser and cleanser) as advertised on your website. I have used them already and find them to be the best treatment for facial redness that I have tried so far. Also, I have watched the website’s reader base develop over the months.
Great work.
All the best
Gareth.
Excellent news that’s made my day!

Hi kcn, Martin here again. I'm thinking about hols this year and suddenly
realised that chlorinated water could be a major irritant. I've not been
swimming since my rosacea got bad although the fact I've put on a stone
recently and don't want to scare people is just a coincidence!! Must be
all that comfort eating. In fact, I'm a bit like the star of the Reebok advert
although it's not from beer!Anyway back to the point, are swimming pools to be avoided? What about sea
water, is that any better? On another issue, do you accept donations to help with the running of the
site? I'm expecting my annual bonus in a couple of months and might send
you a crumb!Love the new site - thanks for all the help
Martin
Hey Martin my main man!
I thought that swimming in a pool would be a definite no no, it certainly
used to be for me years ago when I went (of course indoor swimming pools can
be tremendously hot and humid) but I had to teach my little boy to swim
recently so I took the plunge (sorry) and to my relief I was ok! I went for
a few weeks, then packed it in because it was cold but we shall start back
again - the only trouble is when I appear people starting shouting "quick
get Captain Ahab it's Moby Dick" (lol I'm on a healthy eating and exercise
plan now - swine’s hehe).Ahhhh sea water well that's another story - last summer I went canoeing
alone at sea in a secluded part of Scotland it was such a beautiful day the
family were on the beach with the picnic - I was heading out to an island
and about 2 miles off shore capsized it took me 3 hours to swim back (just
before the tide turned) anyway it didn't affect my skin! That’s the main
thing lol.But of course we are all different but that's me anyway.
Now to your very kind generous offer of a donation - the site is now paying
for itself (after trying for over a year) and even enough for me to get adsl
at last yipee (I may finally be able to pay for the computer soon lol) and
therefore I would be taking money off you unfairly but your kind thought is
enough reward - have a beer on me in the sun.
cheers mate

Dear Friend
I have suffered from flushing red across my cheeks and now for 6 years and it has ruined my quality of life. Doctors “specialists” all seem at a loss as to a treatment and their general response is along the lines of “just learn to live with it”. I have tried so hard to not let it affect me but found it impossible.
I have only just got a computer and so only just found your website. It made me feel so much better reading all the information contained and the way you write it is so compassionate, understanding, intelligent etc! That I no linger felt so alone and isolated. I am hoping and praying that your complete regime will have some effect on the redness. I can’t wait to receive the Aloe and start trying it. If this treatment only improves the symptoms it will be wonderful. I look forward to your goods and shall contact you to let you know how it went!
Yours faithfully
Jon
Brilliant letter Jon, thank you so much. Let me have your email address so I can let you know when the updates are posted. You make some excellent points both to the lack of understanding and care from some professionals and the all too apparent emotional distress these symptoms can cause us. Please stay in touch and if you want to chat anytime just email me.
Best wishes and take care

Hello, i just wanted to say a big thankyou for sending me your aloe vera products , and most importantly at a very good and reasonable price. I have both acne vulgaris and rosacea, and i am using a topical clindamycin topical lotion to help the acne vulgaris, but this has made me have a outbreak of bad excema patches on my face, which is dry itchy, and sore . Should I continue using the topical treatment clindamycin , on top of the aloe 3 products? or is this just a mild syptom that will eventually go away? as i have only been using it for 3 weeks. I would be grateful if you could get back to me personally. Thankyou for your help, and i will continue to use the aloe products.
Louise
Hi Louise
that's very kind of you, thank you. I have no reports of any interaction between the Aloe Vera products and any medication but always check with your Doctor. If the clindamycin is causing your exzema then I would check with your Doctor and perhaps change to another treatment, have you tried erythromycin? I'm introducing a couple of new moisturising and cleansers by allergenics, Aloe Vera based as before but the moisturiser is much more concentrated and recommended for eczema so you may want to keep an eye out for that. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it. Can you tell me some more about
these products and how good they work? Do you tell how they should be used? I
would just like to know how good they are. Ive read the e-mails, but would
like to know how positive you feel about them. I know its your product, but
try to be as honest as possible.
Thanks.Hi I can only say what I tell everyone who contacts me and that is: no one treatment for any disease works for all - because our body’s chemistries are different depending on our inherited genes - we are just all different! As you can see from my correspondence many have tried the prescribe medication and some have found success with metronidazole or tetracycline others have not, others have found success with trigger avoidance, taking some b vitamins or taking digestive aids, others have had success with the anti parasitic drug ivermectin and pethrin or found benefit from laser or other light therapies - there are many more who have not had any success with any of these - there are those who think they have rosacea and they don't - so you can see there is no easy answer - what am I saying?
I am saying that my readers have two choices either give up or try their best to control their skin conditions - to do that they must actively try different treatments - learn about their conditions and keep trying until they succeed - only those who persevere will succeed. The responsibility for your disease is yours and yours alone – you must use your Doctor and other information resources like this site but it is only yourself that will ultimately find what is right for you.
No other treatment has worked for me - The Aloe Vera products I sell are simple the best treatment I have every used to treat the ongoing symptoms of the chronic skin disease rosacea - for me it treats the spots as well as metronidazole or tetracycline - it both treats the redness and the flushing, itching and flaking, as no other treatment has done. The results are not perfect (what is?) and there is no guarantee that you will respond as I and many others have done. The treatment needs to be used in conjunction with avoidance of triggers (at least in the short term) full details - all the useful info I have to help you have the same success as I have is included in the order.
best wishes and take care

Hello kcn~
Writing to you from the states. Your website is marvelous. I found a
message board here...not very helpful, but it sounds like the problem is
basically universal. I myself being of Welsh, Irish and Polish decent
know all too well that we are among the greatest number of rosacea
sufferers. Lucky us, huh? But we are blessed with a great sense of wit
and good humor.....anyway, I digress. I am searching for a new skin
care regimen to replace my old stand-by : Proactive Solution, which has
always worked pretty well for me..I have combination (oily and dry)
skin, rather sensitive ( can't use soap, or Dove or any such stuff...)
People tell me I have such flawless skin...but I know better...I see
myself without makeup and I cringe. My rosacea is getting worse...I now
have little blood capillaries on both cheeks and beginning on my nose,
my forehead and chin...plus little pustules on my chin and an overall
flushed appearance. The Proactive helps with the little pimples but
because it contains a grit in the cleanser I fear I am actually
aggravating my rosacea. So your products sound much less irritating,
more soothing, more natural...all good reasons to give them a try. I've
been down the Prescription road...Metrogel did absolutely nothing! etc,
etc. However I am most curious why you nor anyone else has failed to
mention the ALOE VERA PLANT! I have an enormous Aloe in my bathroom...it
thrives there, needing little sun and it seems to love the steam from
the shower ( unlike our skin)...anyway, couldn't I use the aloe gel from
my lovely plant in the same way you use your packaged gel? I do plan to
purchase some from you along with the cleanser and moisturizer, so I can
take it traveling, but isn't that a good idea? I mean they are so cheap
to buy, easy to grow, and you can simply take a cutting ( break off a
leaf and it will start a new plant). The gel feels great, I use it on
burns and scrapes all the time. My problem is really the cleanser
itself. I need a soapless one that is safe for rosacea type skin. But
some of the milder ones I've tried don't do anything to deter the
pimples that accompany rosacea. Does yours????A couple other things....1. A person named Debbie asked you if she could
mention some products by name that worked GREAT for her...you answered
yes...but there was no follow up in the emails. Did I miss it? Or did
she never get back?
2. the person who mentioned getting tested for an Insulin Imbalance
really caught my interest....as I do also suffer from fatigue, facial
hair ( more just recently...plus hair around my nipples....oops...can I
say that?), hair loss, rosacea and irritablity..... I am going to get
the 2 tests they mentioned. It would be great to find a reason why I
have all these bodily problems that disgust me.....and 3. Can you please
be a dear and let me know when you post the next email list???
PLEASE??? I will get my finances in order, cancel my subscription with
Proctive and send my order to you shortly. My biggest fear is that your
products WILL work for me and then before I know it you will discontinue
selling them. This is not paranoia...it is fact. EVERYTHING I have ever
truly loved (yes even Men)...gets discontinued...Maybe it's just the
luck of the Irish, eh? Thank you for taking the time......You are a very
giving person to reach out to so many people. I can tell, it's made a
difference to so many. Good Karma~ Take care. Can't wait to hear from
you! When you can spare the time.....and Thank Ye!Sincerely, Diane
Michigan, USAHi Diane
great letter thank you! I find the Aloe Vera gel great for the spots and
I'm introducing a new cleanser over the weekend as my previous manufacturer
was unreliable it is Aloe based and excellent so keep a look out for that -
as to using your plant I had a gentleman (a drag racer with a ranch! I
remember as I was very jealous hehe) from texas in the readers emails saying
he was going to give it a try. The Aloe Vera gel cannot be taken internally
without refinement however or you will never be off the toilet! It goes
through a process of stabilisation at the manufacturing plant (I shall be
introducing Aloe Vera capsules next week and am very excited about trying
them myself).Debbie I think I can remember - I think she got back to me and I think her
contact was a covert sales ploy (I get them every day, people writing in the
form of a genuine reader but really they're a sales person for a cosmetics
company etc trying to get free advertising well &&*^& them! hehe). I shall
be getting a new page up and running next week (I said this last week lol)
with just tips on it - mainly about makeup but also things like the insuling
testing you mention - it is impossible for many readers to trawl through the
pages on a dial up connection I know and this should ensure the most helpful
info is more easily to hand. I will be very interested in the results of
your insulin tests - I now have a link on the link's page to a UK and USA
based diabetes sites as I believe it a very relevant issue and call me crazy
but when a lady talks about her nipples well I wish more would lol hehe!
I shall put you on the list with pleasure and don't worry about me packing
up that'll never happen - I love running this site and getting emails like
yours is brilliant.
Stay in touch.
best wishes and take care

Dear kcn~ Thank you for such a speedy reply. I am honored. So, this new
cleanser....is the cost the same or shall I wait until you make the changes on
the webpages? I plan to order the whole set (orig. $43 amer.).....Can I just
send a regular personal check or will I receive the goods faster if I use a
postal money order ( from our Gov't post office)? Here in the states that works
quicker.FYI....I have been taking 2 aloe capsules a day for say...10 years or so. I get
them from Aloes International...it's from Catherine's Choice ( she's some kind
of Born Again Christian Grandma type or so they'd have you believe)....it's a
bit expensive but it's organic and supposed to be superior quality. It's
supposed to help arthritis, and varicose veins, and to keep one regular ( in
the toilet dept.), and many other things. I tried to go down to one a day and
the veins in my legs immediately got worse...and more painful. I don't know
why, but I won't give it up. As far as regularity....I'm like a clock. I
recommend it. If you want I can send a little info with my order...let me know.As far as the insulin test goes, I will wait a few months until my Doctor gets
back in town. He's retired really and runs a weekend clinic. He'll advise me
what to do as far as having those insulin #'s checked out. I will let u know
for sure what happens. I'm reading up on it myself and of course searching the
web...I'll look at those links you mentioned. Thanks for telling me.....Too bad about "DEBBIE"..ha ha...I guess there's always somebody trying to sell
something, huh? It sounded too good to be true, anyway!!! Well, I look forward
to reading the next email list...and more. Thanks again~Be Well!!!~ Diane
Hello,
I have rosacea on my chin and jaw area and am getting a lot dryness from
the metro lotion and differin and soap I am using to treat it. Can I use
your product along with the prescribed topicals to help with my problem
and I am planning a visit to my dermatologist in a few weeks. What
should I ask him about the Aloe Vera option? Thanks for your help.Tim
Hi Tim
It is always worth checking with your medical professional about
interactions but I have no reports of any. I think there is a good chance
of you finding the Aloe Vera products to be excellent for the conditions you
describe - there is no guarantee of course no one treatment for anything
works for all. I would try them and if you are anything like many others
for whom they have worked you won't be asking your Dermatologist you will be
extolling Aloe Vera's virtues to him/her.

Dear kcn;
The first time I ever noticed redness or swelling in my face was a year
ago, right after a stressful week of Easter gigs (I'm a singer in NY, USA).
My skin felt as if burned, itchy and with little pimples - something I've
never suffered from. I immediately went and got a facial - big mistake! My
skin hardened up and turned even redder - wrinkles galore! I went to the
dermatologist, but by this time, it had mostly subsided on it's own,
however, she did say it looked like I had rosacea from the blood vessels in
my cheeks, and ordered me some medicated ointment. Though my skin felt and
looked much better, I used up the ointment until it was finished, about 2
months later. I never noticed this problem again until last week, almost an
entire year later and again, around Easter. Could it be that rosacea is
aggravated by seasonal allergies? Or the weather? I'm under far less
stress this season. It's not really hot here yet, but I did notice that the
last outbreak happened a!
round the time my landlady turned the furnace off (my apartment is rather damp and cold).I am interested in trying your products, especially as I swear by Aloe
Vera! I'll get you a check in the mail ASAP for all three products!Sincerely,
JennyHi Jenny yes seasonal changes can affect some people as temperature and
humidity vary and as you say our reactions to the seasons, extra heat,
different foods, hot drinks etc may be triggers, some react worse to cold
temperatures and some to the sunshine. A womens hormonal changes throughout
her monthly cycle can affect rosacea. It is also a possibility that you may
associate this time of year with an outbreak and that is causing you stress!
Let me know how you get on - great picture by the way.

I've just been on your site and i think it was great! It helped me out a
great deal. Other sites were absolute cack, but this one gave me good
information on all the medicines and acne vulgaris types! Better then all those
dot.com sites! They're clueless, they dont go on how sufferers see it,
mainly for doctors, it's just full of long complicated words which aren't
even explained?I feel just the same as you guys do, i hate those annoying people who take
the p*** out of others with skin conditions. Thanks once again. Oh yeah,
before i go, i was wondering, are you able to push me a bit higher up in
the
waiting list at my hospital, ive been waiting weeks and they ain't seen me
yet! It's a bloody nuisance, :-).! Thanks again. Keep the good work up!Brad
Hiya Brad cheers mate too kind! Comments like yours put me on top of the
world. Unfortunately the only way to jump the queue on the hospital list is
to bribe cough cough I mean pay privately - something I couldn't afford and
if I could I'd expect all the money piled into the health service should be
making some changes by now anyway! It really is frustrating for you but
stick in there.

i would like to be on your mailing list to receive new info and tips for
controlling acne vulgaris-rosacea. i use the metro-gel and find it helps. my
condition
is mild, but it is still upsetting and a pain....does the aloe-vera gel
help
with the red bumps that appear at at times? Pamela
Hi Pamela
Thanks for your enquiry. I and many others have found that it does help
with the symptom you describe indeed it is the only thing I use for such
symptoms associated with rosacea. There is however no guarantee we are all
different and no one treatment for any disease works for all. If I can help
further please do not hesitate to contact me.

hi, i'm 19 male and i've been suffering from severe, and i mean really
severe, acne vulgaris for a long time now, about 4 - 5 years. i have literally
tried
every medicine out there and usually it will just work for a while and
then
it would come back again. lately, it seems to be getting worse. my whole
back, chest and neck are now covered with acne vulgaris. i've tried dermatologists
and they don't work. what do u think i should do? it's getting kind of
embarrassing and it also hurts already. could u please give me some advice
on what i should do? thanks. ---- Raul
Hi Raul
I understand completely how you feel mate. For severe acne vulgaris the course of
action is systemic Isotretinoin which is only prescribeable under hospital
supervision (as an out patient, does not neccesitate a hospital stay) so see
your Doctor again and ask to be refered to a dermatologist. Let me know how
you get on.

HI!
MY NAME IS SOBIA AND I AM 17 YEARS OLD. I LIKE READING
MAKING NEW FRIENDS TRAVELLING, I AM STUDING IN LAST
YEAR HIGH SCHOOL, MAINLY STUDING ECONOMICS, HISTORY
AND SOCIOLOGY.
I'VE GOT acne vulgaris ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO AFTER USING SOME
HOMEOPATH MEDICINES THEY HAVE IMPROVED A LOT BUT THERE
SPOTS REMAINS THERE I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO?
PLEASE WRITE TO ME.
Hi Sobia
Would you like me to put your details on the Penpals page? if so I will need
your permission to print your email address.
You must see you Doctor for prescribe medication for your acne vulgaris - perhaps
antibiotics (remember they may make the contraceptive pill less effective)
or ask about Dianette a contraceptive pill that helps many women with acne vulgaris.
I would also recommend my Aloe Vera products - they are very soothing for
delicate skin and help to alleviate the side effects of some acne vulgaris
treatments.

The make up I use is DORMER.
I live in Canada and it is manufactured by Dormer Cosmetics of Montreal and Toronto.
I find it the best I have ever used for my rosacea. I find the opaque foundation is the best.
I sent this foundation to my sister in England. She also found it excellent for her rosacea. She thinks it is available in England.
Brenda
kcn
I also ment to mention that I have also had laser treatments.
I had two treatments (a month apart) for my red viens on my face. It was very successful. I'm not sure if people are aware that it is NOT permanent.
That was three years ago. Some of the viens are back again - certainly no way near like they were; however I plan to have it done again in the near future.
It is quite expensive. Three years ago I paid $275.00 per session. The dermatologist who did the treatment said if I had to have it done again it would be $500 per session. The lasers are getting better and better, so I suppose they have to keep up with the latest technology - hence the cost to us.
I hardly dare think what it will cost now.
Hiya Brenda
thank you very much for an excellent point well made. Of course many people don't realise that these various light therapies including laser treatment are a temporary solution (as are all treatments at present) and will need to be repeated. rosacea is an ongoing chronic condition that needs long term treatment - perhaps this realisation is one of the reasons so many are turning to Natural alternative treatments and avoiding long term antibiotic therapy with it's associated problems. And that kind of money is about as far out of my league as climbing Everest hehe, I'll stick to my Aloe Vera.
best wishes and take care

Hi kcn,
I am very interested in the aloe vera product but have a couple of questions.
There are so many products like Cetaphil, Pevonia, Kinarase and your aloe vera and I am not sure if I need all of them or a combination or just one. Kindly help me understand. I am so overwhelmed. I would like to get the redness out of my face even though my rosacea is considered mild.
Also would like to know what make-ups are safe for rosacea.
In addition, my sister lives in the UK. She can send you payment in pounds so I wanted to know how much does she have to send you in addition to send the products to the USA (california)
Thanks again....
Marjorie
Hi Marjorie
As to what products will be suitable for you only trial and error will tell I'm afraid. Many people find my 3 skin care products as I do, simply the only treatment that has addressed the redness but no one treatment works for all as we are all different so there is no guarantee. I will say that you must have correct diagnosis from your Doctor and try prescribed medication either first or in conjunction with a skin care program.
I've included my instuctions that I send with orders it will give you an understanding and the best chance of success whichever products you choose. A final note I searched for 25 years before finding these products recently so don't give up there is something that will help you you've just got to find it.

Please add me to your mailing list of any new items you may have. I have rosacea. I live in Canada, but are from Whitehaven. I will be visiting there this summer and will probably order your products at that time.
At the moment I am using a Canadian product - PhytoCort, and noni-juice (frowhich seems to be helping - but I have been disappointed before. I have alergic reactions to all topical medications I have been precribed by doctors.
Many thanks
Brenda

Can you please advise me.
I am 47 years old and on HRT (Evorel patches)and Propanolol for prevention
of migraine. Over the last few months my face has become very blotchy, dry
patches and small red spots, particularly on the forehead and cheeks and
small red dry patches all over. It also feels as if it is tingling/burning
alot of the time, especially after I have put my makeup on, which I need to
for work to cover the mess!My daughter is getting married in 6 weeks and I would really like my skin
to be improved. Any advice please. I have not been to the doctors yet as I
don't really want to go on another medication. Could I have rosacea do you
think.Kind regards
Linda
Hi Linda
Impossible for me to say Linda you must go and see your Doctor for diagnosis
even if you do not wish to use drugs - you may have a type of dermatitis -
have you changed your make up type lately or been in contact with other
irritants - trying my Aloe Vera products may help they do help a lot of
people both with rosacea and Dermatitis but there is no guarantee as no
single treatment works for all - see what your Doctor says and then consider
the options - when you see your Doctor ask about using the Aloe Vera in
conjunction with any treatment she prescribes to give you the best chance.
best wishes and take care
kcn.
Hi (not sure who to address this to)
I looked up your home page after being diagnosed with acne vulgaris rosacea last year. In your latest update you recommend products, eg Aloe Vera Gel, Vitamin E Moisturiser and a soap free cleanser for acne vulgaris rosacea and also for Dermatitis. I suffer from Sebhoroeic Dermatitis also, and I am not always sure which one I am treating - plus using coritisone based products worries me a lot.
My main question is: Is there an agent in Australia where I can purchase and try these products or do you also send to Australia. I am a mature woman (56 in August) and my skin is also slightly dry. It wouldn't be quite so dry if I didn't have to use Rozex (metronidazole (7.5 mg/g) and Egocourt with the preservative Benzyl alcohol.
I would be most grateful for any assistance.
Thanking you
Ros
Hi Ros thank you for your enquiry. I can send to Australia but I at the moment I have to add on UK£5.00 for currency conversion (this will go when I get round to setting up credit card acceptance) so to send to Australia the total cost is UK£31.50 which is Aus$81.90 if you can pay in a sterling money draft the price is UK£26.50
The products I sell are the Aloe99 range you may be able to get hold of them in Aus I don't know I'm afraid but beware many products that I test have irritants in so if you try another manufacturer and it doesn't work don't give up.
best wishes and take care
kcn.
Hi, although I've not been diagnosed with rosacea, I've been complaining
of a red face and severe and embarrassing flushing for several years. I have
been told that it is caused by panic attacks, but think this is rubbish as
the only thing that worries me is the thought of flushing! Anyway I have
decided to try your aloe products but would like to know where the order
form is (or shall I just include my address with the cheque). Also is
there a delivery charge?
Regards, Zoe
CAN YOUR PRODUCTS BE USED SAFELY ON CHILDREN
Aloe Vera has been used for thousands of years as an effective treatment for
skin problems - I have no reports of any side effects or dangers but you
will need to get confirmation from your Doctor. It is the best treatment I
have ever used and the testimonials on the site speak for themselves but of
course no treatment for any condition works for all as we are all different
so there is no guarantee. If I can be of further help please let me know
and if you do purchase my products for eczema please let me know how you get
on with them.best wishes and take care

hello ive just come across your web site for acne vulgaris rosacea, and have just been diagnosed with the problem and wondered if your treatment would work for me ive seen the testamonials from other people and its just given me a glimpse off hope so am ordering some today.
my doctor has been giving me steroid based creams wich has been making it worse .But have seen another doctor who has just come to the conclusion i have rosacea is starting me off on oxytetracycline tablets and wonderd if using your skin regimen with the tablets is adviserbale.
yours sincerly mark
Hi Mark I have no reports of drug interactions with Aloe Vera but your Doctor is the one to check with - you have found the hard way steroid creams are not suitable for rosacea. Good luck with my products I sincerely hope you have the same success as I and many others are having but be aware no treatment for any condition works for all as you can see from the correspondence on the site but keep your fingers crossed.

Makeup to try if you have rosacea - Physicians Formula Le Velvet (without powder). I've been using it for about a week. My skin has improved, almost no pimples. I found this tip on another rosacea website and tried it. It also covers very well, and stays put. My skin doesn't look as oily by the end of the day as it did with other makeups. I use No-Ad 45 spf sunscreen underneath my makeup. I also changed soaps at the same time. I know your website is dedicated to your product, which I might try at a later date, but I am using Cetaphil antibacterial bar soap, which so far seems to be ok.
Karen
Hi Karen thank you very much for taking the time to send that info in - it will help many people.

Hi. I hope you or someone else can answer my question. I was diagnosed this past December with rosacea even though I actually knew way before that . I still have redness. This past October I started on a diet in which I gave myself a reward list for different loss amounts. I have lost 32 pounds so far. My reward for losing 35 pounds was to go to a tanning bed . I have never been to one before ever. I'm afraid of it making the rosacea worse. I know you're supposed to avoid the sun with rosacea . I can't ask my dermatologist because of course he's going to say no because they don't believe in any tanning. Do you think it would make it worse???? I feel weird about asking the question but I've been trying so hard to feel better about myself in so many ways . Thanks, Sheila.
P.s I'm 42
Hi Sheila you're certainly not weird that is a very common concern about tanning beds - on the one hand your rosacea may be aggravated by the UV rays even if you are not affected by the sun normally - on the other hand it may not effect you're rosacea over much and as you say you may feel better about yourself with a tan - this isn't a cop out but simply a fact of life we are all different and react differently to different treatments and possible aggravating factors. I would certainly recommend trying the Aloe Vera products I sell but again while many find them extremely beneficial there is no guarantee - let me know how you get on.

Hello, my name is Christina, I am 22 years old and I am from Greece. I visited a dermatologist just today and he told me that I suffer from acne vulgaris rosacea, a term that I have never heard before.I would like to learn more about the particular form of acne vulgaris. How serious is it? I am quite stressed about it because my face is generally quite clean and I have only two or three pimples, fact that makes worried about the diagnosis. I would like also to ask if the medicine Roaccutan, which my doctor prescribed me, is suitable for my case, or will cause me any problems. I am quite anxious because I had never a dermatological problem before, and only the last few months I noticed some pimples on my face. Thank you in advance for your attention.
Hi Christina thank you for writing - have a good read of my site www.acne vulgaris-rosacea.co.uk the home page, rosacea page and rosacea treatments page and then the readers emails - you should get a good idea of rosacea from that. rosacea is not related to the skin condition acne vulgaris vulgaris both conditions can have spots hence "acne vulgaris".
The usually prescribed medication for rosacea is metronidazole cream or gel and tetracycline antibiotics not Roaccutane which is usually prescribed for the most severe forms of acne vulgaris vulgaris - Roaccutane or Isotretinoin may be prescribed for rhinophyma a sometimes severe enlargement of the nose that may effect rosacea sufferers (usually men) - I would ask your doctor why you have been prescribed this very powerful drug - the following information about it will be useful take note of the complete contraindication about pregnancy this drug has been linked to birth defects.
The most effective treatment for rosacea that I have come across is the Aloe Vera products I sell they work for many but as you will see after reading the site that no single treatment works for all.
Best wishes and take care
kcn.
Pleas can you give me any advice on how to reduce the skin redness caused by Roaccutane
Hi Jayne
Many people are having great success with the Aloe Vera regimen I sell for it's moisturising and anti-inflammatory properties it is certainly worth a try - if I can help further please let me know.

Hey whats up man. Not 2 much here. Im still having problems with shaving. As of right now Im using an electric razor, pre-shave for the electric, after I shave I take a shower and wash my face. Then finally 20 minutes or so later i apply the aloe vera. So what am I doing wrong?? I believe this is my main problem, cause I really only have acne vulgaris on my neck, chin, and areas I shave. I know this may sound like a dumb question, but when you shave do u go up or down with it. When I go down with the electic it barely even shaves it, but when I go up and against the grain it shaves it completely. So maybe thats what Im doing wrong. Ive been gettin some replies off the pen pal page. Most of them are my age, and have rosacea problems. I tell them all that the aloe vera is by far the best thing for rosacea, so hopefully im helpin you out. I got one last question before I let u go. Do u know anything about diet pills? Im by no means fat, but im into weightlifting/working out, and I ve always wanted to take them cause I eat 24/7. I never have cause I always heard they make your face break out. Thanks for listenin like always, and I will continue to tell everyone how good the aloe is. lol
your friend,
Brent
Hey Brent well I've finally got adsl, the kitchen windows are rotten the flat roofs falling in but I've got adsl! but what a bummer it hasn't improved my counter-strike performance doh!
I don't think the shaving is causing your acne vulgaris now that you are using an electric one - I would definately go back to your Doctor and try one of the other antibiotics I mentioned before you've been on yours for ages? ask about clindamycin, erythromycin or and a different topical treatment and have a look at the acne vulgaris treatments page there are now mentioned some tests you can ask your Doctor to do for you that may point to a cause of your acne vulgaris - you don't take any kind of steroids for your weight training do you?
I'm trying to lose weight too in fact I'm determined - I've lost 28 pounds and I've got cough cough to go! The only sensible way to lose weight is to eat less calories than you use and to lose weight at a rate that can be sustained - crash diets and pills may work in the short term but 95% of people put the weight back on. A dietician on tv the other day made a good point about just increasing the excercise you take just a small amount each day - just walk an extra couple hundred yards or whatever and this will build up overtime as to change the balance between calorie intake and usage it's all about sustainable habits of eating and excercise and doing and eating things you enjoy and will keep up - we've got one of those ems electrical muscle stimulation machines it's great you get wired up, lie on the couch watching a video and get zapped lol.

Hi
I firmly believe that I am suffering from this condition as I have all the
named symtoms, although not quite diagnosed by a doctor, a woman i have
never met before in my life mentioned to me that her friend had all the
same
symptoms I have and she called it rosacea which I then looked up on the
net
all the information I have is from the net , I was wondering whether your
products are normal Aloae Vera products or what is so special about them,
I
was thinking of ordering your products but as you may understand I am a
little vary about ordering from the net and whether you send samples.YOur kind advice is appreciated.
Hi Andrea thank you for writing. I have tested and are testing loads of
different products including Aloe Vera products the ones I sell are simple
the best I have found - I have recently received samples from another
manufacturer and all sorts of irritants are in them! I purchase
pre-packaged from a supplier and have no way to offer samples I'm afraid -
I'm just a guy working from home with no packaging or manufacturing
facilities. I quite understand your reticence about purchasing by mail
order I can only assure you of my good intentions.

i was wondering if you knew of any ways to reduce redness and possibly
minimize scarring (both potential and existing). I was not able to get
treatment for my acne vulgaris for a long time and it really messed up my face. I
don't have too many pimples now but there is a lot of pretty bad scarring and
it is EXTREMELY red! My dermatologist has me using Differin cream at the
moment. My last dermatologist had me using Retin-A and said that it would
get rid of the scarring, but it made my face peel and really dry. Is it
possible to get rid of present scarring??? If there is a way, that would be
amazing! Please help me with whatever information you may be able to provide
me.
thanks,
Craig
Hi Craig for scarring you will need to see your dermatologist again and discuss things like laser surgery, dermabrasion and collagen injections - an alternative treatment to try may be vitamin c cream, vitamin e, I've read literature by another manufacturer of Aloe Vera that it may also help with scarring but I have no personal information to pass on I'm afraid - I have a few scars but nothing troublesome.
For the redness probably a side effect of the differin I would certainly recommend trying the Aloe Vera regimen I sell there is no guarantee as we can not be certain of the cause of your redness but many people find the regimen of great benefit (including me!)

I recently learned that part of my roscea was due to ingestion of Aspertame......AKA Nutasweet, found in so many places
now its crazy...... my favorite gum.... my morning coffee, my overdose of of diet coke, diet dr pepper, the list goes
on and on, now after only 2 days off the stuff I already feel considerablyy better, and my flushing response is greatly
reduced, is there any evidence linked to this ,,,,
Thanks... jerry
Hi Jerry yes an number of people have written noticing the same thing and I beleive some articles have been published on the subject - try looking at www.medscape.com and www.gsm.com to see if they have more info - also be aware that some of the drinks you mention also have caffeine in, another antagonist for blushing - also consider the use of my Aloe Vera products they have helped me enormously.

hello,
my name is donna hill and i am a 32 years old african american with very
fair skin color. i have recently been diagnosed as having acne vulgaris-rosacea. i
saw 2 african-american female dermatologists recently. they both said it
looked like rosacea. it only appears under my nose as a redness with
puss-filled bumps. however, they have never really treated a person of
color for rosacea. i was prescribed the metro cream by both of them. the
cream really irritated me so i stopped using it. i ran across your website
and i recently ordered your products. i haven't recieved them yet. in the
meantime, i have been drinking 4 ounces of aloe vera juice that i
purchased
from a health food store. what exactly are the benefits of the juice? they
also had the aloe vera pills. should i take them also? are your products
only beneficial for rosacea or can i apply the gel to regular bumps as
well.
thanks for all of your help.Hi Donna I find the topical Aloe Vera sufficient but the juice may have all
sort of benefits for the body so I would carry on taking it - the capsules
are filled with the juice usually. I find the Aloe Vera products I sell
great for spots and bumps so you may prefer them to the metrocream you will
need to experiment and see what suits you and follow the instructions I send
with my orders. I'm not sure if I have received your order yet if I have
I've sent an apology to you as there is a few days delay as to my utter
dismay the exclusive UK importer of my products are out of stock! But as
soon as I get my stock I shall send your order out (should be sometime next
week) I can only apologise.

Dear Sir/Madam
My Mum is 54 and suffers from acne vulgaris-rosacea, she is very unhappy, and
cannot
seem to find anything that will treat it successfully. She has been to the
doctor who is not very helpful, and I believe has given her hydrocortisone
cream which hasn't helped. Can you advise me on firstly, what treatment
she
would benefit from, and secondly, what foundation/make-up she could use
which would not be irritable and/or make it worse.Thankyou
Ms E
Hi thank you for writing. Hydrocortisone is no longer recommended for the
treatment of rosacea because while it may appear to be of benefit in the
short term - over the long term it thins the skin and withdrawal can cause
major flare ups. Your doctor should have prescribed metronidazole cream and
or oral tetracycline antibiotics. As you can see from the readers emails I
get as with all treatments prescribed medication works for some and not for
others. I didn't have any success with prescribed medication and the best
treatment I have come across and use now is the Aloe Vera products I sell
from the site again it works for many and not for some. Some recommendations
for make up are now on the readers emails pages thanks to kind readers
writing in in response to my appeal (when I get time I shall make up a
special make up page as it is such a popular subject).

Do you have any knowledge of dermatologists that specialize in rosacea
in the Philadelphia, PA area? Or, do you know how I can find one. The
three different doctors I have been to are all so busy. Of course when
I call the offices, they all claim to be excellent doctors. I have
rosacea, but the worst part about it is the cysts I always get on and
around my nose. How can I treat this? I always get prescribed minocin
and fifty thousand different creams.
Thanks,
BobHi Bob yes you will need to see a dermatologist for assessment and to try
prescribed treatments I think there is a list of dermatologists at the
official rosacea site address on the links page of my site - you could also
try the Aloe Vera regimen it is working well for many for the cysts your
dermatologist may talk to you about isotretinoin depending on the severity.

Dear kcn,
For the past six months I have been suffering with a red nose! I am a 28 year old female and also suffer with severe frequent facial herpes. I have been to my GP regarding my herpes but he was not helpful. After a very severe herpetic lesion on my nose I was left with a mild redness and slight lumpiness. The redness is agravated by heat, cold, alcohol, spicy foods, stress, wind, concentration and embarressment. I am getting extremely depressed about it, particularly with my frequent herpes. In fact I am crying whilst I'm writing this. I feel rather pathetic and vain getting so upset and I know there are so many people with much worse medical problems. I feel like I don't want to bother my GP again. However, this is affecting my life. I've taken time off work, cancelled social activities and my self esteem has taken a nose dive. My nose is also constantly itching. I am desperate for any help or advice you can give me.
Many Thanks,
Kelly
Hi Kelly you are quite justified in the feelings you have they are normal we all feel the same way in response to symptoms such as yours - further more the effect it is having on your life is certain to be not treated as trivial by your Doctor if you can explain it to him - tearfulness, time off work and cancelled social activities can lead to isolation and depression an illness that affects 1 in 20 of the general population at any time and something to be taken very seriously - I would certainly recommend the Aloe Vera products they may help and have certainly stopped itching in many people suffering from these types of symptoms but there is no guarantee of course - I urge you to go back to your GP and tell him how this is affecting your life - write your thoughts down beforehand and give it to him to read - if you do not have any luck with your GP make an appointment to see another in the practice or insist on seeing a dermatologist and perhaps consider a modern anti depressant they are safe and non addictive - remember we all understand how you feel and I'm always here to chat if you want. The following info may be of some help.

hi,
i am an acne vulgaris sufferer and have been since my early teens and i am now 21. i have used various treatments including accutane twice and am now trying to keep my acne vulgaris at bay using minocin, differin and azelaic acid, but my acne vulgaris is coming back slowly but surely. i just don't know what to do any advice??

Hello kcn,
Thanks for getting back to me. I think I might get some Aloe Vera to try and
reduce the redness from the Retin-A (if that is possible!). I came across a
very interesting article and I thought that you may be interested in it, and
maybe post it on your site.
The article concerns supplementation with pantothenic acid (vit B5). It
certainly caught my attention and I hope you also find it interesting.
Thanks again, Regards,
Ian
Hi Ian yes that has been mentioned and is possible worth a try under medical supervision. I can't put that on the site because I don't have permission and such high doses may be toxic - last year the UK government was talking about making vit b supplements prescription only as many people take and benefit from them but in high doses they can be toxic causing nerve damage - thank goodness they relented - I find them excellent for stress although I haven't taken any for a while.
Do you have the URL address for your piece I could link to that. And thank you very much for giving me the info it's very kind of you - people like yourself are my sites most valuable resource.
cheers

hi there
i don't know what has happened to my skin, spots, marks. i never had this
bad skin. i am 18, i never had this bad acne vulgaris trouble ever before.no doubt i am in a lot of stress plus skin, everything makes me feel so
sad.
i have lost my confidence.only thing which makes me happy is that i have got a wonderful, caring,
loving husband. he loves me who i am doesn't matter to him anything on my
face. but for me and my confidence its important. my friends in college
make
my fun. people ask me all the time what has gone wrong with ur skin, your
skin was so perfect.i have a lot of responsibities to perform: studies, in-law troubles, worry
alot about my husbands studies, etc.when i go for with my husband i just want to look perfect (like i was ).,
perfect couplei just want my confidence back.
i am taking environ peelings, but i don't think its helping, made my skin
all red, and very irritated.i wish to have plastic surgery on my face. atleast i will have my
confidence
back.i don't know what to do.
if i hide my spots with foundation my friends say fount is bad for skin.
but
then what else can i do to stop showing my spots.please advice me something
thanks
I am looking forward for ur reply
ByeHi you must go to a qualified doctor and seek diagnosis and prescribed
medication - you may have developed rosacea (your doctor may say you are too
young, you are not) in which case give your doctors medication a try and
consider the Aloe Vera regimen. Have a look at the acne vulgaris treatments page and
suggestions for test such as for polycystic ovarian disease (PCO) - you may
want to consider the contraceptive pill Diannette or there are many other
treatments your Doctor can prescribe you will beat this - you may have
dermatitis perhaps caused by your make up - you need to learn about the
possibilities and various treatments a good starting point is my site -
please let me know how you get on.

I've just seen your web page and was very interested, and I will be
sending away for the complete regimen this week.I just had a question, I suffer from spots around my chin and have done
since I was about 12 and I am now 28 and very fed up, will this treatment
help me? Also I have scarring, it isn't very deep it's mostly red marks
from spots that have dried up months ago, but the red marks just stay and
make me look even spottier, will Aloe Vera help this or should I go for a
Vitamin E solution?Yours hopefully
Gwenlli
Hi Gwenlli the Aloe Vera regimen certainly keeps my persistent spots at bay
as effectively as metronidazole. The moisturiser has vitamin E in and I
have read that both can help with scarring as I have read vitamin c cream
may do so - the usual treatment for scarring is dermabrasion, laser or
collagen injections heres a link to have a look at I'm going to put it on
the site when I have time (I haven't looked at it yet!) you may need to
register free with www.medscape.com first to see it
http://dermatology.medscape.com/35039.rhtml?srcmp=derm-031601 the title is
what's new in treating acne vulgaris scars. Have a look at the acne vulgaris and rosacea
treatment pages for more info. And I know what you mean about the redness
of the spots taking longer to go unfortunately this happens as we grow older
and our skin takes longer to heal.

hello, thanks for the excellent site!
what treatment would you recommend for excessively oily skin?
i have had this since puberty and i am now 31(male)
i would like to find a gentle way of solving this embarrasing problem
thanks,
sunnyHi I really would recommend the Aloe Vera gel and facial wash without the
moisturiser - some people complain the gel makes their skin tight and
mistake this for dryness (even though they can see the benefits for their
symptoms) but it really does seem to regulate the skin's physiology for the
better and while there is no guarantee it is certainly a sensible course to
try. And thank you for your very kind comments.

i have mild acne vulgaris, i do not have pimple but little red round marks on my face, and around this round marks my skin is red, when i look in the miirror it is clearly visible that some parts of my face are red and the rest is my normal skin colour, i cant seem to get ride of it, especially near my cheeks and side of my face. the side of my face never seems to get better???
what could i do?
thanks
Hi great to hear off you. You will have to see your Doctor for diagnosis and to try prescribed treatment. You may have acne vulgaris, rosacea, dermatitis other skin conditions or a combination of some of them. Your Doctor may prescribe treatments as mentioned on my website. The most effective treatment I have found for rosacea are the Aloe Vera products I sell there is no guarantee as no treatment works for all but many are having the same success as I have - it is also effective against dermatitis. It is a good basic skin care regimen for acne vulgaris but you may still need prescribed medication for acne vulgaris vulgaris.

Hi kcn,
You are certainly a kind man. This I appreciate.
I will avoid coffee--for me it doesn't seem to trigger redness but I do know
that it dilates the veins so i will stop.
Thanks for the advice. I guess the REAL problem is that, after all this
time, I'm really not completely sure what triggers my flushing--stress is
certainly up there--being a teacher, this is a difficult one to avoid.Spicy
foods and alchol are also high up there.Nevertheless, I will stick to fruit,
veggies, chicken and bland things and heed your advice...I'll give the Gel
time to work...and let's hope for the best.
Thanks a ton...Michael
Hello there,
I just surfed into your site. I've noticed that my face has been
getting more and more flushed and I suspect rosacea - I'm doing
research. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I've been having wonderful
luck with mineral foundations (I've been using Jane Iredale), they cover
redness, are natural and have an SPF of 17 or better. They are powder
foundations that you can brush on and I know that some people will mix
them with their favorite moisturizer to make a liquid foundation (I've
never tried that), I use it dry and my only complaint is that if I'm a
little flakey it shows.I don't know if you have any of this info, but thought I'd pass it on
when I saw that you were looking for suggestions. So, that's mine.
Honestly it's the best make-up that I've found for covering the red.
BTW, wonderfully helpful site.Lisa
Dallas, TX
USALisa that is very helpful information that will help many and I thank you
for taking the time to send it in. Have your tried Aloe Vera for your
rosacea? if you have rosacea it is certainly one of the treatments to try
along with metronidazole etc just see what is best for you.

Hi kcn. You are doing great work on behalf of all
fellow sufferers. Keep it up. A couple of quick
questions. I suspect that I have rosacea, and am
being treated for it (oral anti-biotics), but I don't
seem to suffer from what many describe on your web
pages. My face appears to have a deep dark tan, even
in the depths of winter, and is warm to the touch.
Are these symptoms (ie., tan and warmth) of rosacea?
I don't appear to flush, at least insofar as redness
is concerned but my face will become warmer. Is this
a sign of rosacea? If so, these symptoms are not
normally described anywhere.******What are the symptoms that make you
think you have rosacea - if not the classic symptoms? kcn. What is Biogenic Aloe Vera? Can I use Aloe Vera
purchased over the counter at my local pharmacy? Any
suggestions for a specific product?
Hi my products are Aloe99 - cosmetic preparations with aloe vera added
are not suitable - it's like anything products vary enormously - Aloe vera
has to be harvested, cold pressed and stabilised to retain it's healing
properties (a simplistic example is a bit like if you boil vegetables the
water soluble vitamins c etc go into the water and are not retained in the
veg) kcn.
Hope that's of some help Shawn - thank you very much for your very kind
comments they keep me going.

kcn.Hello,
I was searching the web for some advice on acne vulgaris and I found this site to be very helpful. It's so nice to know that you are not the only one. I have become so self-concious because of acne vulgaris and I have to find a treatment. I have tried so many products that promise me beautiful skin, but none have worked. I tried the Pro-Activ system but it only worked for me for a little while. I am now using ortho-tricyclen, and praying that it will help. acne vulgaris has made me not want to leave my home for fear that people will see me. I want to be confident again. I hope that your site will continue to give great advice!!
Thank You,
Bonnie
Your very kind Bonnie for acne vulgaris vulgaris you will need to keep going back to your Doctor and keep trying different treatments until you find the one that works for you. Have you tried the contraceptive pill dianette or Isotrexin it is a combination of Isotretinoin and Erythromycin. Please stay in touch and if you wish to chat I'm always here.

thanx for replying! i haven't introduce myself...
my name's Chris and i'm from Singapore.
i don't think i can purchase your products, it's not that i don't want to,
but i'm only 17, i can't do this type of decision, because i come from a
strict and conservative family (traditional Chinese thoughts =( )i'm going to the skin centre on friday, can u advise me one what to
discuss
with the doctor? doctors here normally do all the decisions and they never
really tell me what i'm taking.....are u sure i can chat with u? u must be busy...and i'm just one sick kid
who
is looking for a source of dependence...i'm sorry if i have disturbed u...Have a nice day =)
and i'll remember to write down the recommendations u gave me, and i'll
try
n show it to the doctor.Hiya Chris of course you can talk to me anytime you want I've always got
time for you mate. Your Doctors at the clinic should know what you have
tried before and what you should try next - as you say you could mention
some of the treatments I mentioned. They will have to make an assessment of
your skin and prescribe accordingly. Doctors make the decisions the world
over! but you can help yourself by learning about your condition and working
hard to follow your doctors advise and taking your medication as prescribed.
Remember acne vulgaris can take time to respond to treatment so be brave and if you
decide that your present treatment does not work - go back to your doctors
and keep going back and trying different treatments until you find the one
that works for you.best wishes and take care

Hi,
I was diagnosed with rosacea acne vulgaris a few years back, before this i went
years with a big red nose which was always sore and was the most awful
thing to look at. I went to see the doctor who prescribed me with tetracycline,
which didnt seem to work so i went to see a skin specialist who gave me this
smelly zinc lotion to apply, it made my skin worse!! finally i went to he doctor again
very angry that no one had a bloody clue, he then spoke to another doctor who
put me on minocin capsules which work!!! The only problem at the moment is that
my nose gets very oily and it is very annoying, I am just wondering if anyone else
is suffering with the same oily skin and if so what are they using to keep it
under control?
Thanks
Brian B
Hi Brian that is a very common symptom I would try the soap free cleanser and the Aloe Vera gel I sell - there are no guarantees but many find them very helpful and they are certainly worth a try.

Hi, my name is Jan and I suffer with rosacea and have done
for about 2 years now, I have tries various creams from the doctor - none
of
which seem to actually do anything. The only advice I was given by my
doctor was to "not eat red meat" - "don't get too warm in bed" and try to
refrain from drinking alcohol. I am in despair, until today that is when
I
found that I was not the only one suffering. I have today found out that I
am putting into my body the problems which may be causing it, so today I
have embarked on a new life no niacin, caffeine free tea & coffee and of
course the Aloe Vera. I have taken a picture today, not a pretty sight I
might add and I will compare it in a couple of weeks and I will let you
know
the results. Also last August I developed a problem with my right eye, I was diagnosed
have having a Recurring Corneal Erosion, which I have had two operations
on
and today still have a sore eye, it sticks most nights causing severe pain
every morning and it is getting me down, however I have now been referred
to
the Moorfield Hospital in London and I am booked in for Lazer treatment to
help heal the sore. I have not spoken to my Ophthalmic Optician regarding
rosacea, but believe me after today I will, again I will let you know the
outcome.I am truly relieved that you are there................I really thought I
was
going crazy.Speak to you soon
Jan
Dear Jan
believe it or not you bring tears to my eyes (I think you will believe me
because you know that I completely understand how you feel). I remember
talking to psychologists who could find nothing wrong (aside from the fact
I'm a certified barn-pot hehe lol) with me but kept probing about how could
my skin bother me THAT much - bloody idiots. And then you get other
mis-informed people (some of them doctors of course) but I'm thinking of
newspaper agony aunts who when confronted with a letter of help from someone
with the symptoms of rosacea suggest referral to psychiatrists %$3%$$@~ it's
no wonder that some of us think we're crazy. I look forward to hearing off
you next time Jan.

Dear Sir/Madam
I have just discovered your website on rosacea. I was
told by my doctor and also an optician that I have
rosacea.
At the moment I am treating it with Metrogel and while
it helps some bit, I'm finding that the redness is
still there around my nose and forehead.
I would appreciate it if you could give me some
advice on the Aloe Vera you have on offer. Does it
reduce the redness completley and are there any
side-affects. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours Sincerly
David
Hi David
No one treatment works for all as you can see from my correspondence
Metrogel works for some and not others and it is the same with Aloe Vera -
the only course of action is if you wish, to try it and see if its
beneficial or not. I can only say that for me it is the only treatment I
have ever used (and still use as rosacea is an ongoing chronic condition)
that has had any effect on the redness and flushing - many others find the
same beneficial effect some don't. Aloe Vera has been used for thousands of
years both internally and externally and I have no reports of any side
effects or interactions with other drugs but it is effective and in my
opinion that makes it a drug therefore I have to say you try it at your own
risk (of course if there were any noted side effects the government would
regulate it's use - they do not and it is freely available). Always discuss
any concerns with your medical professional.

Hi webmaster
I see you've updated your website since the last time I looked. Its so comforting to know there are so many other people in the same position even though some sound like they have the problem much worse than myself. I don't mean to go on but I get so fed up with the hope of the miracles that I think I new product or prescription will bring. Sometimes they work and I can have clear skin for a long time, but what is it that makes that product stop working and bringing all that grief and f**king heartache back. Im off to see a herbalist in a couple of days and Im thinking of taking up yoga to see if that relaxing stuff you've suggested works. I wish every who visits this website luck and hope somewhere down the line someone discovers a product that works for everyone.
Kate.
Hi Kate great to hear off you again. Unfortunately there is no cure for any condition that works for all - that is because we are all different - our body chemistries are slightly different depending on the genes we have inherited in our past - this is why some very beneficial drugs produce terrible side effects in some people - so what is the answer? to try different things and find one that works for yourself. Sometimes a drug will work for a time and then become less effective it certainly is a major problem - ideally a range of treatments that you can switch between may be beneficial. Also it is important to understand that the causes of the underlying symptoms may be different and therefore need different approaches to treatment - so we need to learn about our conditions, possible causes and insist on tests and treatments we deserve. Let me know how you get on Kate and don't pull any muscles!.

I am 18 years old and have recently been experiencing some redness and
bumps
on my face that sound typical of rosacea. I always have a few small
capillaries that are visible on my cheeks. I am fair-skinned and flush
extremely easily, so it seems like rosacea is the condition I have.
However,
I read that most people don't get rosacea until their 30s or 40s, so I was
wondering if it was possible to have it this early. I plan to see a
dermatologist, but I just wanted to do some research on my own in the
meantime. Your advice would be much appreciated.
-Michelle, IndianaHi Michelle it is a fallacy that rosacea only appears in the age group you
mention as you can see from the readers emails many young people get it from
mid teens - I started at about 15. Your dermatologist will probably
prescribe metronidazole topical, or and tetracycline antibiotics - see how
you get on with them some people do find the treatment useful but if they do
not suit you there are other treatments for you to try mentioned on the
site - the most effective I have come across is the Aloe Vera products I
sell so bear those in mind.best wishes and take care
kcn.Hello,
I am currently using Retin-a for my acne vulgaris and rosacea. My query is,
would it be okay to use the Aloe Vera as well as the Retin-a? Or would there
be a reaction between the two? I would appreciate any comments and look
forward to hearing from you soon.Yours Faithfully,
Ian
Hi Ian I have no reports of any interactions between Retin-a and Aloe Vera indeed I think it would be very beneficial with Aloe's antiinflammatory and antibacterial soothing qualities.

Thank you so much for this site, it is very informative. I e-mailed you
before, thank you for replying so soon. I am now on Keflex, some kind of
acne vulgaris pill. I'm trying to convince my mom to get me on the pill too, cause
although my skin isn't horrid, I'd love to get it clear. I'm trying to be
patient. Also, I was wondering if the aloe vera thing is supposed to work
for acne vulgaris too. Thanks again. Kristen
Hello again Kristen. The Aloe Vera is a basic skin care regimen for acne vulgaris but you will also need prescribed medication.

Hello, there,
I have been using the combination acne vulgaris lotion Aknemycin-Plus, which
incorporates tretinoin with erythromycin, for just over 4 weeks now, and
my
skin is in a worst state than it has been in a long time. I note that the
instruction leaflet does warn of a worsening of the condition, but this
should
soon pass and an improvement in the condition then seen. Any idea how
long I
can expect this worsening phase to last before I do in fact see any
improvement!?I look forward to any advice you can offer.
Thanks.
Rachel.
Hi Rachel I'm not familiar with the exact product you mention but I am with
the ingredients. Part of the action of Isotretinoin is to unblock the pores
pushing the matter up and out of the spots you can see and those that where
in the early stages and you didn't even know you had! I can't say how long
it will take to show improvement I am afraid but I certainly advise
persevering and of course if you have any concerns go back to your Doctor
and ask for further advice. More info you may find at www.gsm.com and
www.medscape.com to genuinely good medical sites.

kcnHi,
I was just looking up sites on the net for rosacea and found yours. My initial reaction was 'fantastic' I've got to try this stuff. But I've tried lots of stuff, like Yon Ka (several years ago - lots of $'s and no return), Herbacort / Phytocort, and lots of other this and that products- also have worked on supplements, clean diet, acupunture, homeopathy, NAET (allergy clearing), being a vegan - didn't work, then a vegetarian, and am now back to eating some chicken and kefir. Guess what I'm saying is that so far I'm probably much healthier for all these wonderful therapies and dietary alterations but my skin flares up, gets splotchy red patches, and I look in the mirror and think 'what's it going to take?' My husband reminds me that this situation is so minor as to be not worthy of attention - and fortunately it's really not an extreme case - but because I don't see it getting better, I figure as I get older (47) it could get worse unless I unravel the mystery of what will make the difference. And I don't like covering things up in any part of my life - but here I am covering up these little red blothces - I'd love to be free of that 'hiding' behind a cover stick!
They say there's an emotional component to all this as well as hormonal changes, allergies, etc. and if I was aboard the Starship Enterprise maybe the Doctor could use his cool little instrument to detect just 'what is' required for my skin to be perfectly happy and the olive colour I was born with. But I'm not there so I now find myself on this search ... should also mention that I do get some minor zit flare-ups as well, like whiteheads and little red bumps, enlarged pores here and there - not just on my cheeks but on other parts of my face - is this all still part of the rosacea picture? So far mine doesn't hurt and isn't terribly sensitive except that my left cheek occasionally feels like the nerve is a bit more sensitive if I run my finger along the skin up toward my eye.
Didn't think I'd be writing to anyone about this but your site drew me in (hope it's not just good advertising, because it really is 'good') and although I'm hopeful your products will work I've reached the point of 'seeing is believing'.
I'd really appreciate hearing back from you with any ideas or advice and particularly, I'd really like to know what the ingredients are. My husband and I eat only organic and are very careful about skin care products and, well, everything we use, right down to house cleaning products. Also, I'd be interested in knowing why you got into doing this. Did or do you have rosacea yourself? (I assume 'did' of the two because your products have probably worked for you). Are you a dermatologist? Whatever you can tell me to fill in the gaps would be appreicated.
In the meantime, before your products arrive if all goes well after your E-Mail, could I use just straight Aloe Vera Gel - 99% pure? I used to drink small amounts of it and have heard that it can be good for cooling and healing the skin too - don't know if straight is too much of a good thing though.
Thanks for reading this long and winding skin summay. I truly look forward to hearing back from you when you get a chance. By the way, I'm in Toronto, Canada - hope there's no problem getting your products here.
Christine.
