rosacea & acne vulgaris readers emails

I was happy to find your site. I am Danish - and as far as I can find out there is not much interest in rosacea here - so I feel rather lonely! My condition right now is not so bad - but I am scared stiff of it developing - especially after reading what you and the Americans write.

I don't use anything specific for my skin - but I do avoid all 'triggers' of which alcohol is absolutely the worst - caffeine the second.

I would like to try the metronidazole - but I don't think it is available in Denmark . Could you give me the address in Uk from where I could buy this product? Do you know if it is sold in Spain - where I come often.

If you have a list of where i can read more about my condition, I would be very gratefull.

Best regards - and thank you again

Susanne

I was happy to hear from you - and after I sent you my mail, I have found the product which you recommend for rocasea here in Denmark. Only yesterday I started using it - and it looks almost too good to be true!

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards

Susanne

Hi Susanne, try not to worry about what might be. I’m very happy the metronidazole gel is working but don’t worry if you have set -backs. I was terrified when I had my major outbreaks which were mainly due to stress but I found the relaxation tape which we now sell a great help. kcn.

Hi

I began suffering from acne vulgaris when I went to university three years ago (I have no doubt that it was stress related). The condition was very serious initially as spots and boils spread all over my back, shoulders and chest. I then went along to my GP and I was prescribed antibiotics that didn't work. Eventually I tried erythromycin which, three years on, has almost cleared all of the spots on my back and chest. However, to my horror the acne vulgaris then
began to spread to my neck, quite severely.

I am now using homeopathic medicine (hepar sulph) which has helped enormously to control the acne vulgaris on my neck, combined with a soap free facial cleanser it has really helped to make the difference. My acne vulgaris is now under control but can flare up during stressful periods. I would definitely advise anyone with acne vulgaris to see their GP immediately and force them to prescribe medicine, if this fails then alternative medicines are definitely worth a try. Someone recently even suggested a consultation with a Chinese herbalist. Anything is worth a try because acne vulgaris, as we all know to well, affects emotional stability and that is too serious to be taken lightly.

Nick

Manchester

Hiya Nick, well said sir! I can’t add anything to that except to gentle point anyone who thinks stress may be a factor to our tape. kcn.

Hi, i heard on the radio last week that a 'new' treatment was avaiable for acne vulgaris using a lamp withlight from red and blue wavelengths. Apparently the success rate for total clearence was 70% in medical trials. Has anyoneelse heard about this as i hate stuffing myself with chemicals and lotions.

regards
James

Hiya James. Please write in if you have tried this treatment. kcn

Hi!

I have only just found you via yahoo and on reading your information I feel I now know what my skin problem is despite having spent a small fortune on cosmetic treatments and doctors consultations. rosacea, as decribed on your site, depicts my symptoms exactly despite being told by a beautician that my problem was a hormonal imbalance due to my contraceptive pill ( I had probably single handed doubled Boots profit margin in the previous six months). I immediately contacted my doctor who seemed non-plussed by my concerns, concluded that I had acne vulgaris, that oxytretracyclene was not appropriate and changed my pill to dianette, which I have heard can be very effective for acne vulgaris sufferers BUT, my question is, if I am instead suffering from rosacea will this have any beneficial effect or will it exacerbate the problem?

The flushing symptom is one I can readily idenify with and had not associated that with the pimples. I sometimes look as though I have been slapped very hard across the face and I have a constant "scorched" feeling. I know your advice will be to contact my doctor again but I feel he is not taking me seriously and was none too happy when I recited my knowledge of oxytretracyclene. How can I eliminate rosacea as a possible culprit? ie should I eliminate all the triggers and reintroduce them gradually?

Finally is there any association or helpline that you know of in the Republic of Ireland for this condition? I would be very grateful if you could answer some of these queries and I thank you for your most informative and helpful site.

Regards

AM

Hiya if you think you have rosacea unfortunately you will need prescribed medication – usually tetracycline and metronidazole topical lotion, you will also be best advised to avoid trigger factors. Print out information off the internet and hand them to your doctor with a request for treatment, your Doctor wont have time to read your information and will prescribe what you want (mine does anyway).

I feel so low with rosacea. It was diagnosed in the 70's but dissipated
somewhat over the years--some slight redness at times but so
unnoticeable that I was a happy person.
In Feb. of this year I was diagnosed with early stage ovarian cancer---I
am cancer free at this time and the prognosis is good.
Since May I have been battling the return of what is believed rosacea. I
hve seen 3 dermatologists{ 2 say it appears to be rosacea and the other
wanted to treat it as mites}. Each day it grows worse--pimples that
look like measles-Not pustular} on my nose and cheeks and redness on the
chin and forehead{some red spots here also}. I do not want to leave the
house. Frightened to use makeup for fear that it will worsen my
condition--hard to locate oil free, water based foundation with very few
ingredients. My dermatologist says to be free of aloe and SPF's is
best. Almay no longer makes what I used to use--Clear Complexion.
I am anxious of this and each day I wish I did not have to wake up. I
am back on Metro cream and think I will begin minocycline this
weekend. Wakup in the night is common and cannot return to sleep. Not
hungry and losing weight.
Nothing at this point is as important as getting my face back.
I put Metrocream on and my face appears to be getting more pimply.
Discouraged and depressed. I may begin minocycline tonight. I am afraid
that none of this is working. At 53 it is emotionally moving to have
pimples that won't go away.
Note--I did have a complete hysterectomy and I am not certain what is
going on in my body.
I need help--makeup that is safe for this condition. I need to hide
behind something. I cannot bear looking at people or vice versa.
I do not want to see myself anymore.
What can I do?
Lonely and distraught, Eileen

Thank you for the information on your site. I'm 31 and was recently told
that I have rosacea. I was given a topical cream as treatment and have been
doing better. However, I recently had a flare-up and began keeping a log of
my diet to try and determine those things that make my rosacea worse. My
question is..how soon would I see a reaction from foods? Within a few hours
or could it be days? Also, I have to say that I got a little depressed when
I saw some of the pictures on web sites about rosacea. Will I just get
worse or can I keep this under control with treatment?

Thanks for any comments/information you can provide. What I have read so
far from your site and other readers is much appreciated.

Brad

Brad how are you doing. It is absolutely uncanny to me how everyone’s experiences mirror my own and how alike we all are, I always thought there was something wrong with me, not knowing about rosacea, when it was diagnosed and I to saw pictures of worst cases and with little advice or treatment from my doctors I felt as you do. How soon do foods affect you? I would say as soon as they are absorbed by the body ie within hours but the skin could take a week or two to recover if the flushing causes dry damaged patches or pimples. Lessen the effect of trigger factors by fighting on all sides, medications, avoidance of as many triggers as poss., relaxation etc.

It means a lot that you appreciate what is written on the site, I only wish I could do it full time, take care. kcn.

Update from Diana:

I saw my opthalomologist (eye doctor) this week for my ocular rosacea and he prescribed another 30 day round of anti-biotic (doxycyclin) followed by a maintenance dose of tetracyclin (taken every other day for a month). He has no problem with staying on the maintenance dose indefinitely, but I'm to contact him after this course of treatment to see if that's necessary. He was concerned that the bacteria was so concentrated even though I use an eye scrub daily. Hence, the anti-biotics. So, I'm hoping this will help - my eyes are already feeling and looking much better. But I can expect periods of clear eyes followed by periods of problems, which follows the pattern of the facial rosacea. Something I'll just have to live with.

I really enjoy your web site as I don't know anyone else with this problem. My husband is very supportive, but there's something comforting in relating to others with the same problem. Thanks!

It’s very kind of you to stay in touch Diana and good news you’re getting some improvement. Your emails are always welcome. kcn.

well i got acne vulgaris and can't do nothing bout it. I don't have any insurace to
goto teh doctor to get this cleared up. Its really killing me, can't stand
to look at my face. Its not as bad as most people but its killing my self
confedence really bad, won't even go out with girls i know cause my acne vulgaris
tends to get real bad then clears up and gets kind of bad to real bad again,
i just can't stand it
i was wonder of buying Benzoyl peroxide and Azelaic Acid online for less than
$20 for each. I was wondering if you think this is a good idea or if you
know a safe site i can buy teh better one from, tahnks alot for your time

Omar

Hiya Omar the beautyjungle online store at our shopping mall is a reputable shop, just having come fifth in a prestigious customer satisfaction survey. They sell products that contain benzoyl peroxide but use cautiously as redness and peeling can be short term affects but persevere – Benzoyl peroxide is an underrated treatment it releases oxygen into the hair follicle killing bacteria. It can reduce surface bacteria by 100 fold Start with 2.5% solution if you find this is irritating the skin apply for an hour or so and wash off Slowly increase the length of time you leave it on for. You can progress to 5% if you do not have sensitive skin. Do not start treatment with 10% solution as this will result in excessive drying, redness and peeling. Part of the therapeutic action of benzoyl peroxide is drying the skin and also to shed the top layer of skin. It may take two weeks to show results, then reassess the strength. It can be worth using an oil free moisturiser. If anyone has tried benzoyl peroxide before it is worth trying again using theses guidelines. Best of luck. If you find a good product at the store can you recommend it to our other readers please Omar. kcn.

my girlfriend has had acne vulgaris for very lon-g time, what can u recommend??
Please help, I would very much appreciate anything you can recommend.. Trevor

Hiya Trevor, the first thing as I am sure you are aware from reading emails here is that your girlfriend needs your support and love. All the information I have is on these pages, acne vulgaris can be very persistent and the efficacy of treatments can vary from person to person so your girlfriend will have to persevere. The first port of call must be a Doctor who will take the condition seriously. Ask your girlfriend to email us and read this site, it may be of benefit. kcn.

Hi i was viewing the website and it is an excellent
site may i just say firstly!!!

Now, I have been on minocycline 100mg tablets
(one-a-day) for nearly 9 months now and my acne vulgaris has
improved by nearly 85% since. I was just wondering if
you could help me but i wanted to know what will
happen wehen i stop taking them now. Will my acne vulgaris
re-appear? Or should i carry on taking them? Is there
a chance that prolonged usage of these will make
bacteria resistant to the minocycline and make my acne vulgaris
re-appear?

I would much appreciate it if you could answer these
questions for me.

Yours Faithfully,

Ritesh

Hello Ritesh, when you stop taking your oral antibiotics ask your Doctor to prescribe an antibiotic topical solution. Bacteria can become resistant to some antibiotics quicker than others but I wouldn’t worry about it you can be put on a different one. Thank you for your kind comments they are appreciated. kcn.

I am a 33 year old woman and have had rosacea for the past 3 ½ years or maybe more!

I am constantly searching the web to see if I can find new things out about it and I think that it is definitely becoming a more talked about and recognised condition which can only be good for us sufferers. Your website also helps!

While looking on Handbag.com recently there was a question about rosacea and for the first time the Dr who responded mentioned that skin mites might have something to do with it - to be exact - Demodex Folliculorum! The mites can then infect the sebaceous glands. So I therefore did a search on this and found that there is quite a lot about this little mite and its affect on the skin - however it mainly affects the hair follicles and also dogs! However
I have been unable to find out how this might cure rosacea.

I have suffered briefly from a skin infection on my midriff a couple of
years ago which was possibly caused by a mite or bacteria of some kind. I managed to get rid of it by using a medicated dandruff shampoo as recommended by my doctor - but don't know if this would be suitable for use on the face? I doubt it. I wouldn’t kcn.

Has anyone else heard of these mites as being a possible cause of rosacea?

Kind regards,

SW

Hi it’s just one of many possible theories along with helicobacter pylori, stomach acidity, needing betaine hydrochloride and pancreatic enzyme supplements etc. If you want to search 6000 medical journals for more information go to our shopping mall. kcn.

I recently was diagnosed with rosacea and use a topical gel with metronidazole. Does rosacea get worse? The doctor was in such a hurry, he said to look this up on the internet...anyway, at least now I know what it is! For years people would ask if I had been skiing, or sunburned etc...I didnt know what to do..The gel seems to help..I am supposed to put it on twice a day but, rarely do I guess I am just used to doing that yet and its $15.00an ounce..Anyway, thanks, C-ya....Tim.....

Hiya Tim. I learned about my rosacea it was horrendous and now it is under control and my flare ups are rarely disturbing, information is the key so read on! kcn.

Having found this site through Yahoo, can I just say
how nice it is to hear from other people who have gone
through similar experiences to me. I had acne vulgaris for six
years, from the ages of 10 to 16. It appears to be
hereditary as my mother also suffered from the same
early age. I tried every medicine available, but it
seems as though my acne vulgaris is a particularly resistant
form, as none of the treatments made any difference.
Finally, my acne vulgaris was cured by a course of Accutane-
but by this time I was severely depressed and poor
self-esteem and self image took a long time to get
over. Unfortunately, 2 years on I have developed acne vulgaris
again, and it has shattered my life. It is only
during the last 2 years that I have been able to
recover from my depression and actually lead a normal,
enjoyable life- and the thought of going back to what
life was like before is horrible, especially as I am
due to leave home and go to university in the autumn,
and I can feel myself already becoming less confident
and more withdrawn. Because of my first bout of acne vulgaris,
I became very reliant on makeup, and developed a
phobia of going out without it. It has taken nearly 19
years for me to start believing that I am not ugly,
and I don't feel strong enough to go through it all
again. I have been referred back to the
dermatologist, but the waiting list is a year long,
and in the meantime there's nothing I can do to
control it. Is there anything else I can do?

Hiya my advice is to take your email to your Doctor and explain how your acne vulgaris is affecting you mentally and how this is going to affect your education. I left college prematurely because of my acne vulgaris. I could not concentrate on my studies and like you felt ugly and just wanted to hide. Your Doctor then should be able to get you an earlier appointment. Also ask how much it is to see the specialist privately it could be £50 well spent. I find our relaxation tape helps me with feelings such as yours. Differin is a new retinoid-type gel. According to Dr Tony Chu the former chairman of the ASG (acne vulgaris support group, www.stopspots.org.uk) “It is comparable to Retin A or Isotrexin, but is much less irritant. It does all the things that a retinoid does – it unplugs the follicles and removes the micro-comeodones – and it also has an anti-inflammatory effect It definitely has a place with those patients who find Retin A too irritating to use and there are many of them”. Let us know how you get on. kcn.

I have rosacea as well. I was told it was dermatitis at first. I have a hard time dealing with it based on the fact that I used to have the looks that could have gotten me into male modeling. No more. I hate waking up even now based on this problem. I have done Cleocin and i am now on Metrolotion. I went from feeling I had it all to having nothing. What make-up could I use that would not hurt the skin? I appreciate this site.

Macrey

Hey Macrey thanks for writing. The best make up I have heard of is Dermablend available at beautyjungle on our shopping mall page. It was originally developed for those with scars, burns, blemishes, strawberry birthmarks and is now the makeup of choice for rosacea sufferers and other skin conditions. Please recommend any particular formulations to our other readers so they can benefit themselves. kcn.

Hi,
I am a rosacea sufferer form Argentina and I have just
visited your website which I found very interesting. I
have been diagnosed with rosacea very recently,
considering the time I have been suffering it (I am a
very shy person) and the years I was treated for
common acne vulgaris which, as you know, just worsened my skin.
Though I know there are treatment limitations in
Argentina I think that I am know in the hands of very
good dermatologist (I feel they are not as concerned
as I am to get my skin in better shape, but my
cosmetologist is luckily a great help and knows a lot
about my problem). The thing I am most concerned about
right now, after visiting your website, is eye
problems related to rosacea. I have been treated for
an allergic conjunctivitis for years (which I thought
was due to high rate of smog in Buenos Aires) and I am
afraid my eye doctor may not be informed that my
problem may be related to rosacea. If you know about a
website with more information about this, please let
me know.
Thank you very much in advance.
Yours sincerely
Mariana

Hello Mariana if you use the medical search engine on our shopping mall page you will have all the information that you need. Please let us know what useful information you find, for the benefit of our other readers. kcn.

Hello there! I am a 30 year old male, and have been suffering with a skin
condition for the past 4 years. The symptoms started out as minor redness
in the cheeks (flushing), and then became worse over time. The symptoms
are now major redness (flushing) in the cheeks, forehead, nose and heavily
around the mouth and chin. A persistent headache is with me at all times,
and I constantly feel fatigued. I had some spider veins on my face and
nose, and had them removed, which was extremely painful as well. I have
seen many doctors, one dermatologist said he thought it was due to the sun.
I was diagnosed by a GP back in the states with rosacea. I live in
Australia now, and actually had a Photoderm treatment to try and help this.
The treatment was pretty painful. It does not feel like a rubber band
snap, as they describe That sounds painful enough! kcn. It is more like a quick whip to the face with a red hot metal antenna. After 80 blasts on the facial area, it is torture.
I have tried metrogel, and other products, and nothing seems to be working.
I am still not one hundred percent convinced that I have rosacea. I just
feel like these headaches and fatigue might mean something else. I am
extremely frustrated and have lost so much self confidence over the past
few years because of this. I am sick of everyone asking me if I have been
out in the sun. Or telling me that my face is red. When I look at
pictures of myself from before I suffered from this I feel like the person
in the picture is not me. I feel like I am being chopped down piece by
piece by this stupid disease, and there is not enough I can do to get help.
I just want to feel healthy and be able to look at myself in the mirror and
smile at what I see.

S.

Hi S., headaches and fatigue are not usually symptoms of rosacea and while they may be due to stress because you are upset by rosacea only a Doctor will be able to tell you and put your mind at rest. rosacea can cause damage to the facial lymph system perhaps with baggy cheeks and bags under the eyes, just a guess but could that be causing your headaches (depends where the pain is I guess) As for rosacea think around the problem – do you also have dermatitis (daktarin indicated) which often accompanies rosacea. Don’t just try metronidazole use it as prescribed in conjunction with other treatments, tetracycline for example, try a medication for the flushing (as reply above), avoid trigger factors as laid out in this site, use a cooling water spray as you are in a hot climate. Try a dermablend make up product with sunblock available on our shopping mall page. Use relaxation techniques our tape may help. I know how you feel and while I agree that rosacea is a stupid disease I think it’s also a #!!%#’?! of ##~!/.* and I wish it would *!#~^” away, ah now I feel a bit better. Let us know how you get on S.. kcn.

Hi

I have a 'condition' that noone has ever really got to the bottom of. It goes like this....

I developed what was diagnosed as 'acne vulgaris' in my teens, I had large red spots appear on my chest, neck and sometimes my face. At this time I was into sport/gym in a big way and I thought (as you do) that the excessive sweat I was producing during heavy workouts was causing my 'acne vulgaris'. So, immediately after a workout I showered and scrubbed profusely in an attempt to prevent the sports.

But.....2 to 3 days later they would appear or the smaller spots would enlarge, sometimes with a big ugly head in the middle!!

I tried the topical lotions and Minocin but nothing seemed to touch it, so I began to live with it....

An accident prevented me from any workout/sports for 6 months. In that 6 months period ALL my 'acne vulgaris' like spots disappeared. At the time I put it down to 'getting older'.

It was not until I started heavy workouts again that the spots re-appeared, just as before 2-3 days after the heavy workout. (by 'heavy' workout, I mean where I get VERY hot and sweat profusely). Also, whats seems weird is that the spots seem to come in pairs, ie if I get one large red spot on one side of my neck, I usually get one in near the same place on the other side, the same on my chest etc...)

I am now lost for answers, the doc's say 'dont do heavy workouts' but now I am not exercising in the fear of the spots returning and so obviously am putting on weight!!

Have you ever heard of this anywhere else of from any other visitors to your site?

Please feel free to publish this E-mail on your site if you wish

Regards

Jon

Dear Jon, you know it’s weird but I find if a spot appears on one side of my face it very often appears on the mirror image place too! I too find that sweating aggravates acne vulgaris. The damp shirt blocking pores. Standard advice is to change damp clothes and wear cotton. Did you know that walking a mile uses the same amount of calories as running the same distance. Ok it takes twice as long so you can get half the work in but it may be an idea to adjust your training rather than curtail it altogether. I’ve had to do the same because of rosacea. kcn.

Dear Doctor,
Between electrodessication and laser sugery to remove veins on nose
caused by rosacea, which one will you recommend? I am a bit concern about
potential side effects caused by either of them, can you point me the
related information?
Thank you very much.
Jie-Yi

Hi Jie I am not a Doctor just somebody who had acne vulgaris for 20 years and now with rosacea that is it, period, are you trying to get me into trouble? just joking. I’m sure our readers will write in and give you anecdotal evidence about these treatments. kcn.

Please inform me of any information you might have. I am a 36 year female who has had some form of acne vulgaris for the last twenty years. I would appreciate any infor you have. Thanks.

Nancy

"When Im with a boy i like,i find it hard to say anything cool,or witty,or at all.
I can usually make a few vowel sounds, but then i have to go away" – Willow

Well if it’s any consolation Willow I have a similar problem, whenever I say anything cool or witty (which I think is quite frequently actually) my wife leaves the room with a face like a dried up lard burger (good job she can’t use the computer she’d kill me!), in fact she’s hardly ever here, come to think of it that’s not a problem - it’s a bonus! Anyway don’t go by what you see on tv and read in magazines that’s not real life. There is someone for everyone. When you find the right boy your common interests might mean you can talk easily together. If you have feelings of low self esteem may I suggest – yes you’ve guessed it - our tape. kcn.

Has anyone ever used metrogel/metrocream/metrolotion before to treat rosacea? I wanted some feedback on this cream and any other medications that you believe worked for you? sincerely, Allison

Hello Allison mmn I wonder…… kcn.

Hi

I have had acne vulgaris for four years ( since I was thirteen ), and it is at its peak now and very uncomfortable. Although antibiotics ease the spread slightly I have been recommended to try roaccutane.

Do you know how effective this drug is and how long I can expect to be on it.

Thanks Tom

Hello Tom how are you doing mate? You will find all the information to help you by typing roaccutane in our medical search box on our shopping mall page. Good luck let us know how you get on. kcn.

Hello,
My name is David Tilman and i think i have a mild case of Rosecea. I flush easily and once i am flushed that is all i can think about. It is inevitable if i exercise and is prolonged even after i cool down and take a cold shower. By no means is it there on my cheeks all the time, but in nervous situtations and when suprised, it often acts up. In fact it is acting up right now. Anyway, i didnt know there was a name for it and i am excited to learn that there are possible treatments. THis may sound odd, but after a couple of drinks, i tend to feel the heat on my cheeks less, and the rosyness goes away. I was wondering if there was adrug out there that could perhaps numb the feeling in my face so that i wouldnt constantly worry
about my skin feeling tight and hot. Please respond as soon as possible to this email. Thank you very much, i look forward to a response.
Sincerely,
Dave

Hi kcn,

This is the product I use.. You can sign up with them and then you can get it a little cheaper. That is what I did. I like the shampoo and the soap has been a life saver. the lotions and face cream are expensive and don't last long ( for me ). You scrub your body and face pretty hard with whatever soap you want.. ( they would suggest theirs but i don't do that as it is pretty expensive ) and then lather up with their soap and stand in the shower for as long as you can.. I think ten to twenty minutes was mentioned and then you rinse off.. It is pretty neat. Alot of the ugly scarring left after the mites no longer had a comfy home to live in and my skin looks a lot smoother .. by about eighty percent!! I also use good old herbal things sometimes like clove and rosemary oils etc.and a lot of inner detox things from the healthfood store and have cut way back on the sugars and quick acting carbs and that has helped too. God Bless alll of you and thanks for listening.

Ruthann

this was my contact person.. this is really her name and she and her mom are very nice..norma Takeshita 3460-A Maona Rd. Hello,
I was wondering where acne vulgaris or pimples can form? I know the face is one, but what about the rest of the body?
Thanks

Hi most commonly face, upper torso, but you name a portion of the skin and you can most likely have spots there. kcn.

I am a 28 year old female who recently was found to have rosacea. Very
uncommon for someone my age I hear. My doctor prescribed antibiotics twice
a day and creams; one in the morning and one in the evening. It has help
some. I have not experienced the red acne vulgaris yet. I hope that it will be under
control by then. My question is this. I am very health conscious. I
exercise daily and take a multi vitamin. I recently started taking a liquid
muti vitamin "Mineral 2000". I have noticed in the morning when I mix it
with juice shortly after my face literally feels like its on fire. And the
redness last throughout most of the day. O.K. I know what your saying
"STOP TAKING IT" ... and I will but I want to know what is in it that
causes the flare up. What vitamins can't rosacea sufferers take? Can I not
take any vitamins orally again. This is a condition I did not bargain on.
I am very depressed. Could you give me some help or direct me in the right
area on more information concerning rosacea.

Aha if you look on the label you will probably find it contains a b2 vitamin in the form niacin this causes flushing in anyone at applicable doses (which vary between people so don’t ask). This is called the niacin flush (original eh?). Help is at hand I find a multi vitamin or b complex containing the same b2 vitamin but in the form niacinamide does not cause me to flush and therefore does not aggravate my rosacea it took me 2 years and £250 on supplements to work that out! – how’s that for an answer - good eh?- now are you going to buy my tape? Oh go on – please – pretty please.

Let us know if this helps wont you. kcn.

hello, I've got black marks on my oily face leftovers of pimples. I'm in
desperate need of how and with what to get rid of them. Please advice. Thank
You
Hi the blackness in blackheads is dissolved skin pigmentation melanin and not dirt as many think. If any readers have any suggestions please write. I suggest dermablend make up available on our shopping mall page. kcn.

Dear Sir/Madam,
for years I suffered with acne vulgaris and I tried numerous
anti-biotics. The doctor eventually referred me to a dermatologist who gave
me isotretinoin. This drug did have dramatice results in reducing the
problem only for it to come back again a few months after treatment.
However, I would recommend that anyone suffering with acne vulgaris should pursue
this treatment regardless of the side effects. Unfortunately, I now have
some scarring that I would like to get rid of on my back, mainly at the
shoulder area and some on my chest as I find it uncomfortable to go swimming
etc. Could you advise me please on any treatment that can remove scarring
and if it is possible to have it done on the NHS. If not, I would seriously
consider getting the money together for private treatment. Your help would
be greatly appreciated in this matter.

Gary

Hiya Gary dermabrasion can be available on the nhs. CRT collagen replacement therapy improves the appearance of scarring by injecting a natural material into the recesses caused by scars. Laser treatments are also available. Unfortunately I have no personal experience to pass on to you Gary but if any one else has please write in. My advice is to searche the medical database on our shopping mall for research and then approach your GP with a view to seeing a specialist. Many private clinics offer treatment but I would lean towards the NHS (britains national health service). kcn.

Hi Dee thank you for writing. I am pleased you find support in this site, that is the sites main aim. You have to be careful not to pick at your face as this can cause scarring that will be there after you acne vulgaris has gone. If you are depressed by your skin condition as we all are to some degree, seek help from your doctor. All the information I have is on the site with further research available via our search engine on the shopping mall page. I feel that one of our tapes may be of benefit to you. Send us another email next week and tell us what you’ve been up to. kcn..
