I was wondering if anyone has had experiences with Alternative medical treatments for rosacea i.e. vitamins, minerals taken either in pill form or applied topically?
I heard of people having success with; betaine hydrochloride supplements to aid digestion, vitamin b supplements (with niacinamide not niacin), vitamin e & calendula topical creams, homoeopathy, anymore anyone? kcn.
Hi... my wife about 3 months ago developed a general itch about her upper
torso by means of small pimple like protrusions that causes much itching. The
small pimple protrusions when scratched releases a touch of liquid. From her
general central body, this rash seems to have migrated down into her legs and
upward to her neck. The doctor recommended using a Desoximetasone Cream USP,
0.25% which temporarily relieves the itching.
In applying this cream to her back each day, I have developed the same
situation. We returned to the doctor a few days ago and he couldn't suggest
doing any more than using the cream, mentioning that our problem might be
acme related.
We are seeking another Dermatologist but thought you might shine some
contructive light on our situation. We would appreciate any suggestions or
questions that we might ask these doctors when we return to them.
Thank you for your kind attention.
I can’t I’m afraid except to say acne vulgaris is not contagious. Can anyone shed some light. Please let us know how you get on at your dermatologists – your information could help others – thanks (it’s not insect bites is it? Mites in your bed? My brother suffered that) kcn.
I have developed rosacea at age 53, after never having any skin problems in
my life. I have always blushed easily. I have been working to control my
condition, but like you say it circles around the stress of the desease. I
thought it would be nice to talk with someone who undersatnds how it feels
to have this problem. Criste.
Hi, well you can talk to me cause I’m *&$%*** off with it as well, so drop me a line anytime. I am however looking forward to the treatment for flushing mentioned on the home page. Now come on you lot this is the first correspondent who wishes to talk to others send me your email addresses and I’ll pass them on to Criste and if she likes the sound of you I’m sure you’ll get on great and give each other mutual support. kcn.

Perhaps ask your Doctor about a combination treatment of a retinoid and an anti-inflammatory antibiotic such as erythromycin – i.e. Isotrexin. kcn.
I've been using a homeopathic remedy for the past 4-5months and my rosacea
has never looked better. (I did have a mild outbreak after I indulged with
a Margarita - I rolled the dice and lost.) I have been taking 6 pills daily
Wayne Diamond's "Herpanicine". I have also discontinued Metrocream and
Klaron (sulpher based Klaron CAUSES outbreaks, for me.)
Although I was a skeptic, homeopathic remedies did for my son's eczema what
2 pediatricians and 2 dermatologists (including one pediatric dermatologist)
couldn't do! After 2 ½ years of trying prescription treatments, my son's
eczema was cured after three weeks of using Udo's Choice, a blend of flax
oil and primrose oil. It was a miracle.
Thank you for taking the time to write in and help others. Of course I’m going to get emails asking where you get the stuff from so let me know. kcn.
I sent you an email last week regarding Kombucha and
how it has helped clear up my skin.
I am now 30 and have rosacea for about 4-5 years so I
agree with you about the doctors opinions of how you
dont get rosacea at young ages. A friend of mine is
27 and also has mild rosacea - not helped by the fact
that she likes to drink like a fish.
One other note : I have stopped eating meat and the
difference in my skin has improved even further.
Obviously this varies with different people although I
followed the advice of a chinese herbal doctor I had
been seeing. His advice so far has been very good.
He suggested acupuncture - this didn't really work for
me although I did speak to one woman who had enjoyed
quite an improvement.
All the best
Paul
Hey Paul thanks for getting back to us. Don’t be a stranger. kcn.
I thought i would just let you klnow that when i tried
the treatment Azelaic acid it made my skin a million
times worse. I don't have a serious acne vulgaris but the
doctor perscribed me it and my face reacted
unbelievably the acne vulgaris was out of control. my doctor
couldn't believe it, perhaps you should put a warning
note as possible side effects. i know it was the
cream that made it worse because i could fell it
irritating my skin and when i came off it, it died
down.
Also could you tell me about a drug called roaccutin.
my dermatologist recommended it, but to pay privately
it costs about £650 so i need to know how succesful it
is? side effects? and is it a one off treatment? if
you can't help me can you refer me to someone who can?
thanks
ami
Hi,
I found your article very fascinating. I am going to see a Dermatologist next
week. I have been refered by my doctor in Georgia. I have only a little red type
rash around my nose. I get some flaking skin after I have had a shower. I have
probably had this for two years. It comes and goes.
If you have any other imfo I would be grateful.
Is there a complete cure for this?
Regards
Des
Hi Des some people do experience spontaneous remission I wish I did! You should find the info you need on this site. kcn.
Hi.
I visted your web site. The problem is that I have
severe acne vulgaris all over my body. I also have very oily
glands because my face, back, and head are always
oily. I also have acne vulgaris in my scalp. I have tried all
the cleansers, but they don't work. I was wodnering if
you could tell me what pills to take to bring my
horomone level down. Right now, my horomones are
overproducing. I would really appreciate it.

Hi,
My name is Jo-Anne from early this summer my rosacea was
misdiagnosed as acne vulgaris by my GP. I was given an acne vulgaris topical medication
which needless to say made matters worse. It has been a number a years
since my last flair up. I was wondering if you have any advice on how
to get around the itchiness until I can get into see my dermatologist.
Perhaps calamine lotion or aloe vera try on a small area first. kcn.
Hi...I am from India...I am 34 years...and yes suffering from acne vulgaris since
my teens...I have had two healthy kids and otherwise have no health
problems but I havent been able to eliminate this problem...ten years
back I was prescribed tetracyclines wich I discontinued after
pregnancy....recently I noticed that even amoxycillin helps reduce
infection (I had them for my wisdom tooth problem)...since antibiotics
seem to be the most effective (I tried homeopathy for a while but lost
patience!)in my case can I continue them ...for how long...what are the
side effects...I dont mind consuming anti biotics all my life if it
controls acne vulgaris......of course I will consult a dermatologist here...I
also need another opinion on this...could you advise me or recommend a
site/source where I can discuss this with some expert
Thank you
All the information I can give you is on the site. kcn.
Will you ever include statements from users of acne vulgaris remedies generally
suggested?
I am very interested in a acne vulgaris curing system advertised on infomercials
here in the States called Proactin. Are there any users of this product who
have had success or failure?
Thanks
Mandla
Not too sure what you mean, but if anyone has experience of the above please write in. kcn.
HI I am eighteen years of age and I am very depressed about my acne vulgaris rosacea. I am attending my local G.P.
and I am on antibodics for three months and nothing seems to be happening and I am getting very depressed
about the whole thing, is there are light at the end of the tunnel????
Is there any information that can help me.
There is indeed light never give up hope. Have a look at some of the replies from previous weeks, I hope it helps, don’t forget to tell your Doctor how your condition is making you depressed he can help. kcn.
Dear kcn,
I am very interested in this new treatment for facial flushing and I
would gladly pay for information on this! However, I have one question to
ask you, that is, if you think this treatment would be available to people
in the Republic of Ireland?
I have only been diagnosed with this condition recently although I have
suffered from it for a while. It was through your web site that I finally
realized what I had. I have started using the topical metro' gel but I have
seen no improvement after a month of use. As well as that I had one of my
worst flare ups ever the other day in work when under stress, honestly I
could have landed aircraft with the beacon that was my face!!
As you can well understand it would be very disappointing if the treatment
was not available here in Ireland.
Sorry for going on!!
Yours Sincerely,
Paula
Hi Paula I have every reason to believe it is available throughout the western world! If for some reason it’s not or you already new about the treatment I’ll send your money back. kcn.
