A personal view of Rosacea and trigger factors from a sufferer of 25 years.
Rosacea usually affects mainly the high points of the face, the Nose, Cheeks, Chin and Forehead.
I believe that rosacea is primarily a vascular disorder, possibly a genetically inherited abnormality of the blood vessels of the face. One of the main symptoms of rosacea is hypersensitive skin or an abnormally severe reaction to things that make the face flush such as heat, cold, spicy foods and alcohol etc, if you think about it these triggers make most people flush but in us it's many times worse and leads to further symptoms of spots, redness, pain, swelling, itching, thread veins and flaky skin.

Flushing and blushing further aggravate the condition, resulting in increased sensitivity to other "trigger factors" and this can lead to a vicious circle, with gradual worsening of symptoms in some cases. There may or may not be redness, swelling, pain, spots and thread veins. The eyes may be effected. The nose can become enlarged (in rare cases and mainly in men). Rosacea is thought to be a chronic condition that in my experience usually needs to be managed long term. In my experience there are periods of flare ups and periods of remission. I believe this increasing sensitivity can be reversed.

The CALMIN Sensitive skin care products are not treatments for Rosacea or any medical condition - but are designed to eliminate one of the most common triggers for sensitive skin, namely harsh, irritating skin care products. However we do find that being able to cleanse the skin of dirt, make up and irritants lessens irritation, and sensitivity may be lessened further with the use of the Calmin EPC Sunscreen SPF factor 15 with it's soothing, protecting & moisturising ingredients.
