rosacea & acne vulgaris readers emails

The interesting thing is that if you read the ETS page
carefully there is a lot of resentment of the guy who
is the source of a lot of the horror stories. He has
had a pretty awful experience but there are also a lot
of positive feedback as well.

The interesting thing I remembered was that the BBC
news did a lead on ETS a couple of months ago about
blushing and the people who had received the treatment
were very positive about it.

I think the moral of the story is that you need to
thoroughly check out what the side affects are. I'm
still of the same mind as you in that I still very
much want to go ahead with it, but want to read up a
little more before making the final decision.

Adios

Thanks for answering my letter, it really means alot to me that someone cares. I've got rosacea and have had it for 2 years. Anything you could tell me I would be very thankful!! Hope to hear from you soon!

Deloris

Hello again Deloris it's really great to hear of you so soon. There are many things to try for rosacea, firstly you have to avoid those things that make youre face go red and get flushed - we group these things together and call them "trigger factors" you may find heavy excercise makes your face flushed, hot steam from the shower, washing up bowl or a hot bath makes you flushed - you may find certain foods make you flushed avoid caffeine in coffee, tea (a little caffeine which some can tolerate) and some soft drinks - avoid spicy foods ie chilies, paprika, cayenne pepper etc. avoid foods high in niacin like tuna (i'm going to put a list on the site when I find one) usually a balanced diet not eating too much of one thing is ok as far as niacin goes but avoid cereals with added niacin - a couple of years ago I couldn't tolerate cereals like that at all, now I'm ok with them and vitamin tablets and wine!!!!! so things can and do improve! never forget that! - Hot drinks, the sun and sitting in front of a fire can also bring about flushing. As you control these triggers your skin will not flare up so much and will calm down with time and then be less sensitive to them. As for medications; I certainly recommend the Aloe Vera gel we sell if your skin is very sensitive during flare ups apply it and leave for a while to let the antiinflammatory and antiseptic agents absorb into the skin and then wash of gently with luke warm water. Treatments from your Doctor are tetracycline antibiotics, metronidazole antibiotic topical creams some find them a help others don't. There is a treatment called Sulfacet R that some find a help (and others don't), I haven't tried it as my Doctor can't find it luckily I don't need it now thanks to Aloe Vera.

Dear You,
I have not been diagnosed yet but I am almost certain. Bright red face,
spots which I have never ever had before, gritty eyes, forty and
female. The thought of having this for the rest of my life is
unbearable. I am taking by the bucket load grapeseed extract. Will it
work? I have an appointment at the doctors tomorrow. Oh to give up
heat, cold and red wine - too much. Please give my address to anyone
that has personnel tips to offer.

Thank-you

Hi! I am a rosacea sufferer, and enjoyed reading the helpful letters of fellow sufferers. You mention a tape and a shopping mall page. How do I find them, and since I am in Canada, would I be able to purchase them?

Thanks,

Barb

I am a Yank living in Baltimore, and I have suffrered bigtime due to my
skin
condition. For 8 years I have had acne vulgaris all over my back, shoulders, and my
chest at times. Drinking beer inflames it, whereas sitting in the sun
helps
it. I am 24 and I still get this shite. I have never had a girlfriend, and
I
am a introvert due to my curse. The money spent on all sorts of products
is
unbelievable. I am convinced it will never go away. I feel like the
elephant
man, and I want to jump off a bridge.
Jasper

Hi Jasper thank you so much for writing. We all know exactly how you feel,
despair, isolation and depression man do I know what your talking about.
Never give up I was in your position and now I have a great wife and son if
people you meet can't see past your skin disease then they are not worth
your tears. Have you told your Doctor how much your skin condition affects
you they take you more seriously if they know how it is affecting your life?
Have you tried Isotrexin a topical combination of erythromycin and
Isotretinoin? I'm lucky I've just found the most effective treatment for my
rosacea in the past few weeks and I've had rosacea for 25 years! so it shows
that a treatment may be out there you've just got to search for it. Have
your tried Aloe Vera?
take care, best wishes and stay in touch.

I have just found your website. Fantastic. I'm female - 49 years old and reckon I have been developing this for about the last 6 or 7 years or maybe more.

I've been diagnosed with acne vulgaris rosacea since Aug and have been on a course of antibiotics for about 4 months - minocin. I did see an improvement initially but it didn't seem to last. I have stopped taking them now. I then saw an article in the Alternative Living section of the Sunday Times which said that grape seed extract and Ester C Plus (1000mg Vitamin C capsules) seem to help symptons. I have been taking one a day of each (100 mg of grape seed and 1 1000mg Vit C) for nearly 2 months but again don't see much improvement. However the doses in the article don't correspond to the tablets that I got so I wonder am I taking enough or too much! I'm 5ft 8in and about 11 1/2 st. Has anybody any more info on that.

I don't know what foods trigger it - I never seem to be without red cheeks, red chin, red nose and very dry forehead. My eyes have started to get gritty in the last few months and have only just found out that it is connnected to acne vulgaris rosacea. I go back to the dermatologist on Tuesday and hope she can do something for me - I am fed up to be honest and feel very self conscious about the whole thing. I haven't been on a topical antibiotic so maybe that might do something for me. Winter time seems to be really bad, in and out of cold weather, central heating, hot kitchens, alcohol ( which I enjoy! - not too much of course!) open fires. As soon as I eat it flares up - as I'm sitting here (2.30 pm) my cheeks are burning.

Help!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Carole

Hi Carole and thank you for your kind comments I tried vitamin C it didn't work for me. Another reader has written and she is trying Grape seed extract also but she wasn't positive. A few months ago I would be saying to you to try Metronidazole gel in addition to the tetracycline the Dermatologist might prescribe now I am going to suggest using the Aloe Vera gel - hopefully you'll purchase it from me but if not do try it from your local shop - I have been using just since before christmas I have to use it night and morning to keep the spots at bay which it does admirably but the redness and flushing has gone!!!!! something metronidazole never did - even the few thread veins have all but disappeared - I won't tell you how much I had to drink this Saturday but my face next day is as pale as it was the day before - it has given me so much confidence I having applied for some different jobs! something unthinkable before Aloe Vera. But don't get your hopes up too much no one treatment works for everyone - we are all different and react differently to drugs (if aloe vera works and it does, that makes it a drug in my book). All I can say is for less than £5 well....I think I've said it all.

take care and good luck and stay in touch.

I was diagnosed with rosacea about 10 years ago and have been using medication daily since. I see a dermatologist regularly but still feel I need advice.

I want to use something for wrinkles. I tried Retin A several years ago and that was a definite no-no as it was way too harsh on my sensitive skin. I have tried Renova and Kinerase which are advertised to be milder and less abrasive on the skin. After using either for just a couple of days, my skin breaks out and my complexion looks awful. I would like to know if anyone with rosacea can use any product for wrinkles with success or if there is a method to follow to use any of the above-mentioned products with success without such harsh results.

Any help or advice you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Charlene Cobb

Hi Charlene that is a difficult one. I have read an article extolling the virtues of vitamin C cream the purer the better. We shall see if other readers can offer any other insights. Do try Aloe Vera Gel for your rosacea though. If you find out anything further please let us know.

hello,

i'm christina and i have rosacea and acne vulgaris and i'm only 14 so i figure if i can treat it now that it would be better than waiting till i'm like 40. so please add me to your mailing list.

thanks alot,

christina

Hi Christina it's really great of you to write. There are many treatments for acne vulgaris - the most suitable ones that may not aggravate your rosacea are the antibiotics your Doctor can prescribe - I also recommend Aloe Vera Gel (a pure product not some cosmetic cream with a bit of Aloe Vera in) whether or not you buy it from me - give it a try and let me know how you get on.

best wishes, take care and stay in touch

say its not a big deal but is to me. is there anything i can do about
this.

Hi Lindsay it's great to hear from you. You will need to see your Doctor
for a diagnosis and to be prescribed suitable treatment. You may be
prescribed topical antibiotics. Also give Pure Aloe Vera Gel a try whether
you purchase it from me or your local shop let me know if it helps. Any
further help you need let me know.

Dear Colin

You will have to be persistant with your Doctor and insist on diagnosis and possible treatment - I whole heartedly recommend you try Pure Biogenic Aloe Vera gel - I find it brilliant for all sorts of skin complaints it may just work for you. Its available on the website or perhaps you have a local shop that supplies it.

Hello,

I've suffer rosacea due to facial flushing for quite some time and the
drugs
my derm has prescribed have not helped. During my research, I've come
across a procedure called Photoderm. Apparently, this machine uses
intense
pulses of light to cook and remove dialated blood vessels making it more
difficult to flush. I've had one treatment and have noticed a reduction
already. Drawbacks are that it is painfull and expensive ($300-$500 per
visit, 4 to 8 visits depending on how your face responds) as it is not
covered by medical insurance (in the U.S. anyway!). I havn't seen anyone
talking about it on this website so I thought I'd through it out there.

I've looked closely at ETS and have been scared away by the potential side
effects. Just so people are aware, there are two types of doctors who do
this procedure, those who cut the nerves and those who clamp. Clamping
would be the preferred way to go b/c it is reversable -- they simply
remove
the clamps.

Regards,
Mike

P.S. Keep up the good work, your website it terrific!

Hi,
I have been suffering with acne vulgaris since puberty, I always get really
big
pimples. I started taking a neem extract that completely cleared up my
skin
and for a year or so I had a normal life; but then all of a sudden it
came
back and was even worse than before, and this time little red viens
started
to appear on my nose an many blackheads. My skin is even oilier than
before
but at the same time it drys and peals. I have to wash my face 5 times a
day.It has completely destroyed my social life, when it first happened I
was
a wreck, but now I am doing better emotionally.
Do you know of any treatments for blackheads and those little red
viens?
I have tryed a mint julip mask and nose strips but they done't work. I
was
also thinking of asking a docter about acutane.
-Kamal

Hi Kamal thank your for writing - you will have to see your Doctor and get a
proper diagnosis and treatment perhaps antibiotics. I have thread veins
from my rosacea and the Aloe Vera gel I sell has all but got rid of them -
it also keeps my spots at bay - give it a try. The blocked pores of
blackheads are filled with skin pigment melanin and not dirt so don't think
your skin is dirty or that washing over much will be of great benefit. It
is a fact that the skins of acne vulgaris sufferers is much cleaner than the general
populations!
take care and let me know how you get on.

Hi

Can you let me know if the Aloe Vera Gel is worth the buy ?
DO you still use it ? I mean do you also still suffer from rosacea
.. I ofcourse do. Your site is wonderful ... I must say. Its such
a disease which one can discuss only with other sufferers & not
the common man.

Thanx & hope ye reply back soon.
Vini

Hi Vini you're quite right only we know and understand what it means to have
these dreadful skin diseases. I have only been using Aloe Vera Gel for 1
month - I have to use it night and morning it leaves no noticable residue
and is absorbed into the skin. If I miss one application the spots start
coming back. It is the only medication I have ever tried that reduces
redness and that in turn has helped the flushing significantly, my few
thread veins have also all but gone. No medicines or treatments work for
all - we are all made differently but if you are like me you will thank god
that you found Aloe Vera.

Hello,

I am very interested in purchasing the Aloe Vera gel advertised on your
website. I am very sensitive about my condition and was wondering if your
packages are sent out in a discrete manner i.e. no mention of acne vulgaris or
rosacea on the external package. I would appreciate a quick reply to this.

Many Thanks and keep up the great work,

Sorry for the delay I'm just back off my Christmas break - Happy New Year!

Hi the package is completely plain except for your name and address.

Hello

I was pleased to find your web site, and hope you may be able to give me
advice. I am 40 years old, and have been dealing with minor acne vulgaris since
my teens. It is mostly localized pimpling on my chin, but now seems to
be spreading to my forehead and nose area. Of course, I have tried
everything I could, including dermabrasion, but can't seem to break the
cycle. Any suggestions?

Andrea

Hi Andrea Dermabrasion is usually associated with scar removal was that one
of the problems? There are many different antibiotics and treatments such
as topical solutions with a mixture of erythromycin and isotretinoin or
benzoyl peroxide and erythromycin etc. These are only prescribable from
your Doctor - you could also try Aloe Vera Gel and see the email pages of
the website for some of the successes others have had it could give you some
ideas as I don't know all that you have tried already.

Hello:

My name is Jessie, my face first showed signs of rosacea a little over a year ago. It wasn't to bad then but it bothered me

so I went to a doctor, the doctor gave me a prescription of Prednisone, it got rid of it for about 2 or 3 months, then it came back worse. I went to a different doctor and she gave me a perscription for Metrogel, Ive been using it for about 2 1/2 weeks there is no improvement yet. My simptoms are redness around my nose and cheeks, as well as itching and acne vulgaris, People ask me if I am

sunburnt, and it is very visible when I am at work and I get warm. I hate it, it makes me feel diseased or something. Any advice

from someone who knows what I am going through will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Jessie

Prednisone is an oral Corticosteroid. Steroids oral and topical as you have found out offer temporary relief and then make matters worse. We all know how you feel - we have been there - give the Aloe Vera Gel I sell from the site a go - I never found metronidazole any good at treating redness although it was affective for spots. I find Aloe Vera tremendously effective against ALL my rosacea Symptoms.

Hello there. I have only recently found your web page. I have suffered (and I mean suffered!)

from acne vulgaris rosacea for about 16 years now. For the last few weeks I have been on antibiotics

for a throat infection and it has been wonderful to see how my skin has improved (the doctor said

it would). Trouble is I`ve been this way before. For all those years I have tried virtually everything

to help and nothing works - except the antibiotics. Trouble is I usually get thrush (candida) when

I take them for any length of time. (Oh yes I`ve tried the anti candida diets too - without success).

I really see no alternative to a return to the doctors for more antibiotics - I just can`t face (ha ha!) the

slow deterioration again. Is there nothing new to try? I recently read a little about grapefruit seed

extract - know anything about this as a possible treatment?

Sorry to sound such a moaner but I really have had enough!

Thanks for listening.

Well I've had two others mentioning Grape Juice this week but none positive. Honestly I would give the Aloe Vera Gel a shot, you will see from the other replies to emails on the site (when I post them) what it means for me. I've only been using it for 4 weeks and I now have the confidence to apply for other jobs for the first time in 6 years - try it.

Hello,

My name is Maria and i thank you very much.

Just found your site in my lunch break. I've only just been diagnosed with
Rosecea
although I now realise I've probably had it for years. I'm using a
Metronidazole Gel
called ANIBACT and quite honestly its making me worse. I now have larger
and more painful areas of infection and it seems to be spreading.

Is this a common reaction to first treatments or should I go back to my Dr
and get an alternative?

Regards
Martin

Dear Martin
Metronidazole is the standard treatment for rosacea, what I personally have
found to be far more effective in the past month is Aloe Vera Gel it has 90%
cleared all my rosacea symptoms- redness, flushing, spots, thread veins, you
can get details on my home page, give it a try and good luck.

My girlfriend has had acne vulgaris for years and has tried load of stuff can you help? Please any advice we would be grateful for she is desperate. Your site fantastic it is really needed.

Hi thanks for writing and your kind comments.

Your girlfriend needs to have a diagnosis for her condition. There are many treatments to try as mentioned on the site it really is a case of repeatedly going back to your Doctor trying different treatments until you find one that works for you. There are no miracle cures but what works for one will not work for all. As you will have read the symptoms of acne vulgaris are formulated from bacterial growth and inflammation. An alternative approach for acne vulgaris is to try Aloe vera gel, Tea tree oil, has your girlfriend tried erythromycin cream? Have a lool at the emails on the site they will give you more ideas.

take care and best wishes to you and your girlfriend

My name is Tim, and i am 18. I understand that I am young to be dealing
with this disease. Is ther anyhting can tell me to help me out on this
horrible disease. I think i have tried everything. My social life and
self-esttem have trulysuffered the last couple of months. I am desperate
for some help and advice.

thanks
Tim

Dear Tim is it rosacea? I guess so from what you have said. Please please
don't despair there are things you can do to help yourself. Firstly the
most effective treatment I have ever used is Pure Biogenic Aloe Vera gel
details on the homepage of my site try it. Next there are the trigger
factors to avoid they are detailed on the site and in readers emails. Next
tell your Doctor exactly how your disease is effecting your life at probably
the worst time it could - just as you mature and want to form
relationships - rosacea and acne vulgaris are very cruel diseases. If you start to
feel depressed, tearful, have loss of appetite or sleep are avoiding going
out talk to your doctor about it. Have a good read of the site and learn
about your condition you WILL beat it - very few people have a straight run
through life - when things aren't going our way that's when you have to show
true character.

Hello,

I live in Mexico city and for some time now I've experienced this skin disease in my face. It all started with some lumps in my nose, with like water inside. They would appear and then disappear within three or four days, until, one time when I went to the mountain they appeared again and they stayed for about 2 weeks, I was 19. That was the first time I went so see a dermathologist.

The first doctor I saw told me I was an elegible candidate for skin cancer and I was lucky I went to see her before it developed. She prescribed a sun block (factor 30) to use daily and told me not to expose myself to solar radiation.

I was like that for almost one year, until my mom decided to take me to another doctor. Also a woman. She said I had a kind of skin herpes and gave me some other medication.

After another two years we went to see another doctor, this time I had sarcoma; she also gave me a different medication.

About two years ago I visited another doctor, this one told me he was not very sure but he thought I might have rosacea, he gave me a cream and taught me how to prepare a solution with water and some pills, I should apply one day the cream, one day the solution and avoid sun 100%.

So I did, and it seemed like the problem was headed to a solution, but then, four months ago, I took a four month trip with my sister, I don't know how I got some small lump in the tip of my nose. Like the ones I am used to getting. That happened around late september. It is January and yesterday I felt terrible.

I looked at myself in the mirror and couldn't understand why I have to bear this strange disease. I just got back from my trip and have been wearing this red nose for all that long. We went to the beach one week ago (I didn't get any sun). And it seemed the red spot was turning into a scar tissue. Yesterday I was washing my face and couldn't get it no more!

I tried to clean it, It looked rare, I squeezed and got this clear liquid and some blood, of course I had to remove the tissue and some fat came out too.

I cried and cried and asked "why me?", you know? Now It looks a little darker and I believe this time it's clean and I'm getting a clean scar tissue.

The thing is that I am really worried, I am 26, been through four doctors in seven years, I feel terrible about the way my nose looks, red all the time, having to explain people why it is always red, not wanting to go out because I don't feel ok with myself, because I have to go to the washroom all the time to see how red my nose is and give it another hand of make up.

Honestly, I don't know what to do, so today I was looking for sarcoma, even skin cancer and then rosacea and I found you, I don't know what to ask, what kind of advice I want. I know I am waiting for the unexisting miraculous cure...I don't know.

Please if you could just reply, it would be the greatest, cause some times I feel like a lost cause. Like I will be "auntie Rudolph" forever. If you could see my nose now...

Thanx,

Mónica

Hi Monica

We all understand exactly how you feel. Of course I cannot make any kind of diagnosis via email and even then I am not qualified in medicine in any way but the most sensible course of action I would recommend is if you try the treatments for rosacea and see if they work. If you look at the site you will see that whatever causes the skin to flush exacebate the condition - for instance the sun (in some people) heat, cold, spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine, STRESS - avoid these things for now and take medication for rosacea - the first thing Doctors prescribe are tetracycline oral antibiotics and metronidazole I find the Aloe Vera Gel (details on my homepage) by far the most effective treatment and it's cheap! I can send you some if you like if you can pay in US$. Your are not in anyway a lost cause don't give up and let me know how you get on. How I envy you the Mexican sun, I've had one cold after another since our wet cold winter started, never mind. Also try things for stress relief, meditation, relaxation tapes, hyphotherapy is great, mild excercise.

best wishes and take care

Dear Webmaster,

I have had rosacea for about 15 years. Over the years the flares became
more
frequent and intense to the point that people would comment, "Oh, you've
been
out in the sun!". No, I had not, I had been indoors for weeks but my skin
looked sunburned and had many small pustules across my forehead and nose.
I
stopped wearing make up and was extremely careful about what I used on my
face. I tried all kinds of topical and herbal remedies. I scrupuously
avoided the sun, spicy foods, alcohol, hot soaks in the tub, etc.
Sometimes
some things seemed to help, but the rosacea still continued to get worse
over
time.

A friend introduced me to a whole food dietary supplement called Juice
Plus.
I was very skeptical about the product until I learned that studies
published
in peer-reviewed medical journals show that Juice Plus increases T-cell
counts (immune system improvement), increases the rate of repair of DNA
that
is damaged by free radicals, increases the level of blood antioxidants and
decreases the level of free radicals in the blood. Since I hold a Ph.D.
in
Biology, I was very impressed by the high quality of scientific evidence
that
showed the efficacy of this product in promoting good health. In
addition,
there are over 800 medical doctors (and this number is growing quickly),
in
the United States alone who recommend this product to their patients,
family
and friends.

Since Juice Plus improves the immune system and antibiotics are a common
treament for rosacea, it made sense to me that this product might be
helpful.
I started the Juice Plus and after about 3 months my rosacea improved
significantly, but I still had some redness and less frequent flares. I
finally, very reluctantly, went on an antibiotic called Monodox. I
continued
with the Juice Plus and after a month on the Monodox I was able to cut the
antibiotic dose in half. After another month I stopped the antibiotic
altogether. I have been off antibiotics completely for over a year, have
continued the Juice Plus and my skin looks wonderful. I am not using any
other treatments other than washing my face with Irish Spring soap and
using
either Trader Joe's moisturizing lotion during warm weather or Aveeno
moisturing lotion during dry or cold weather. In the year since stopping
the
antibiotic but remaining in the Juice Plus, my skin has gradually improved
to
the point that, as long as I don't overdo the sun exposure, the redness
and
pustules are gone and my skin tone is very even. After many years I once
again hear the compliment, "You have beautiful skin."

I certainly cannot guarantee my results for everyone, but the role of
nutrition in preventing or "treating" many chronic diseases is
increasingly
coming to the forefront of medical research. We now see conferences and
medical journals on the subject of "Nutraceuticals", a term that has been
coined to stress the releationship between good nutrition and the
prevention
and treatment of chronic diseases. In addition to what I consider an
extraordinary improvement in my rosacea, my allergies are much less
bothersome, I don't get colds and flu the way I used to and my children,

Dear Webmaster,

I am 36 and have been a sufferer of acne vulgaris rosacea for the last 4 years. In the early days of diagnosis the first course of 50mg doxycycline removed the effect. However, with prolonged use (years of it ) the rosacea is becoming more pronounced with the classical face symptoms. I don't know if any other readers suffered from the onset of rosacea at the same time as any gastric effect (excess of wind through the mouth). In fact , this symptom was evident about 2 months before the rosacea kicked in.

I'm fortunate that I have private healthcare and that consultant dermatologists and gastroenterologists have been seen to date. The way it stands at the moment is that I'm awaiting blood test results to see if h-pylori is present (long shot but you never know) and the dermatologist has asked me to consider the use of Roccutane (huge list of potential side-effects). Any experiences to share with the use of Roccutane ? Being honest I would prefer not to use it and may consider a homeopathic approach in the future. In my case, I am convinced that some sort of gut infection has occurred and will crack it one day.

Best wishes Graham

PS keep up the good work as the medical profession needs to get a better understanding of this disease.

Hi Graham

thank you for your kind comments. Helicobacter Pylori has and has not been implicated in rosacea depending on which study you look at (both recent) but of course your gastric problems may well be a factor in Your own rosacea. Try the Aloe Vera Gel for an alternative approach before Isotretinoin and see if that works for you - I hope it does.

Hi webmaster

I am having a crap week. My acne vulgaris has flared up really badly in the last
few
weeks( I have been battling with it for 5 years now - i am aged 32!). Went
to the doctors to get some more antiobiotics (the 3rd time in 5 years).
My
skin is so sore and I have tried so much to combat it but it still comes
back, and I am getting really depressed, am not looking forward to
Christmas
at all, just want to curl up and die. Have a hot date in a weeks time and
am dreding it now. Even my make up which has been my crutch is not
working
anymore. Jesus. I even couldn't bring myself to go into work for 2 days
this week. Things are bad.

Thing is I know that it has been much much worse than it is now and I know
I
can get the better of it, but it still gets me down.

What I have done to combat it:
Eat really healthily
Don't drink
Given up smoking
I exercise
I don't drink tea or coffee
I drink 8 -10 glassses of water
tried every product known to man, spent a fortune in trying!!
Now am trying very gently products as I find Benzol Perozide, Retinol etc
really burn the skin and actually make the skin produce more oil.

I am so tired of it all, trying and trying to sort it out. aghhhhhhhhh.

Thanks for listening

Emma

Hi Emma great to hear off you sorry I haven't replied sooner I've been in
holiday mood for a month! now I've got one massive hangover and no money!
aahum hehe. Your feelings and despair over your acne vulgaris? we all understand can
empathise and wish to god we could help you. What can I suggest? If your
skin is very sensitive perhaps oral antibiotics could be a good option - or
erythromycin topical antibiotic is generally recognised as gentle and try
Aloe Vera Gel in conjuntion it is very soothing. How did your date go or
shouldn't I ask - I was going to relate some of my past disasters but this
is a family site! Let me know how you get on.

Dear acne vulgaris rosacea co,I have completed a course of antibiotics that lasted twelve weeks, and my rosacea got worse, before it was restricted to the nasal areas, but now has spread to the forehead and other parts of the face.If you have any suggestions about what to do to combat this condition I would be very pleased to hear them.I have tried many things in an attempt to get rid of it, but nothing seems to work.Yours Sincerely,PAUL

Hi Paul I would firstly say make sure you are avoiding the trigger factors as detailed on the site. I recommend Aloe Vera Gel it has been the only treatment that has really worked for me. Metronidazole topical antibiotic gel is the usual treatment from Doctors. But give the Aloe a go and then let me know how you get on.

My current doctor refuses to refer me to a dermatologist, can she refuse
me this. I need to know about my skin condition and how my diet might
affect things. Paul

Doctors are a law unto themselves! if you keep going back and pestering her
she will let you see one - also explain to her how your condition is
affecting you mentally and emotionally. You could also ask to see another
doctor in the practice and perhaps see one more sympathetic to skin
disorders. Of course if you can afford it you can ask your GP to make a
private consultation with a dermatologist.

Having been to the doctors several times in the past and been given
'naseptin' on both occasions I was searching about skin problems and found
your site.
I know you can't tell for sure but do these symptoms sound like I have
rosacea?

redness/soreness sometimes very sore on the lower half of the nose the skin
has gone slightly rough. Thread veins looks like I do cocaine or drink too
much... I wouldn't mind if I deserved it!

I do blush but put that down to being shy, I don't have a ruddy complexion;
also I feel kind of anxious most of the time maybe that's modern day
living.

Can rosacea cause things like sweating, nervousness or is it the other way
round.

If go back to my doctors how do I handle it can I demand to see a
dermatologist on the NHS.

Thanks in advance

Hi Pete
It could well be rosacea - you will need to see your Doctor and have a
correct diagnosis (if they are capable of making one - it took 20 years in
my case). Avoid the trigger factors detailed on the site and try Aloe Vera
Gel details on homepage, your Doctor may prescribe tetracycline oral
antibiotics and or metronidazole antibiotic gel. Having rosacea can indeed cause you to be anxious which in turn cause symptoms of sweating, nervousness and blushing if it gets a problem ask your doctor for propanolol beta blockers they could help. If you have rosacea I think the blushing you experience is more likely to be a symptom of rosacea then you being shy and then you are shy because you blush. Good luck.

Having tried three months of anti-biotics from the doctor. I went to my food shop and asked them for advice, I'm now taking Dandelion Root twice daily, and Betaine Hydrochloride & Pepsin also twice daily. I've been on these tablets for about a month, and to be honest can't see any difference. But, I've heard that herbal cures take longer to get into the system. I'll keep trying for another month. I had hoped that trying the internet was going to give me a miracle cure. I'd really like to know what causes acne vulgaris-rosacea, the assistant said something about not enough acid in the stomach?????

Well, Ill keep popping the pills and see how smooth my skin is. Bye for now, Susan.

Hi Susan well your assistant is to be congratuled! it is one of the theories and betaine hydrochloride one of the alternative things to try. Unfortunately there are no miracle cures but the most effective treatment I have found just 4 weeks ago is Pure Biogenic Aloe Vera gel see our homepage for details it has done the business for me so far!

Let me know how your treatments go won't you.

Hi Webmaster,

Delighted to find your website. As a fellow-sufferer of rosacea for the last 6 yrs I am always on the lookout for new products. I found information about the Sher System and was wondering if anyone had tried these products and if so, how did they find them. I also found information on Linda Sy on the internet. However I am reluctant to hand over the money before I hear some good vibes about these products. Can you help?:

PS : Can anyone recommend a good sunscreen? I seem to be intolerant to all that I have tried.

Berni

Hi Berni thank you for your kind comments, before handing over a lot of money try the Aloe Vera gel I sell - I've been using it for 4 weeks and it's fantastic and it's cheap £4.95 and that lasts for weeks! It's none greasy and you can't see it on as it absorbs into the skin, it effectively treats my spots and redness even to the extent of reducing the flushing thank god! It's even given me the confidence to apply for another job for the first time in 6 years!!!.

Sunscreens are a difficult one I've just had a look on the site there's one recommended on the early email pages somewhere but I've got to go and give a decorating estimate - nearly late!

Hi my names Kate and Im 25 from North Wales.

Although my Doctor has never actually said that I have Roscea I have been suffering from this red face condition for years and have put up with precsription after prescription of antibiotics. I now think my face is rejecting anything I use!

I have bad and good days sometimes I look fine and the next I look as though Ive run 10 miles around the block. I try not to let it affect me and just get on with enjoying life.

Anyway better go

Kate

Hi Kate thank you for writing. My best advice is to try the Aloe Vera gel I started selling a couple of weeks ago it is the most effective treatment I have ever used and remember to avoid the trigger factors as detailed on the site.

Hi!! I have been undergoing treatment for adult acne vulgaris for 3 months. I have
no health insurance so I went to a free clinic and the doctor put me on
tetracycline. It has worked dramatically. I was affected right on the
sides
of my mouth, particularly on one side. I was constantly inflamed and
broken
out - the medicine has gotten rid of the inflamation and you can barely
detect it anymore - however the side that was affected more has left some
scars/blemishes - do you know of any topical creams that are helpful in
lightening or removing them? Other than that my skin on my face is very
clear. I am a very fair skinned redhead who burns easily (if that
matters).
Your response would be greatly appreciated. Great webpage.

Thank you,

Charlene

Hi Charlene thank you for writing that is great news that the tetracycline
worked for you. The usual treatments for scarring are laser treatments,
dermabrasion or collagen injections. I find that the Aloe Vera Gel I sell
and use for rosacea has reduced the appearance of my thread veins it may
help you it is only £4.95 for a big 128g tube (+£2 delivery to the states).
You could also try a good vitamin e product or Vitamin C cream has been
reported to improve the appearance of scarring.

Dear Mr Web,

The site is too be comended, well done. I am intersted in purchasing some
of
the products advertised but I would like to ask a few questions before I
splash out.
I have used oral antibiotics (minocycline caps)and Benzymicin gel for
about
three years to treat acne vulgaris. I have found them useful , however they are not
without their problems. Perhaps the most annoying problem is dryness of
the
skin. When this happens I am unable to apply the gel or I use moisturiser
(which aggrevates the problem.)

Anyway, enough of my waffel, here are my questions :
1. Is it ok to take the Aloa Vera Tabs with the antiobiotics I am already
taking, if so is this worth it ? In otherwords do this tablets perform a
different function to the antibiotics I`m already on?
2.Obviously the acne vulgaris friendly moisturser would be most useful but is it
practical to use the Aloa Vera gel considering I use Benzymycin Gel ?

Thanks
Phil

PS - three tips for fellow sufferers - If your doctor is dismissive about
your condition, don't feel embarrassed about ditching him/her and seeing
another doctor. Your condition is real, you are well within your rights to
seek medical help. (one Doctor once told me , "Don't Worry you will grow
out
of it in three months." Given the fact I was 22, had approached him
because
my condition was worsening and I had been suffering from acne vulgaris for 8 yrs, I
think I was justified in seeking a second opinion.

- My second tip is that it is very easy to believe that when people look
at
you all they see is acne vulgaris . This is simply not true . I have found that the
most disturbing effect of acne vulgaris is the way it can affect your confidence.
In
many situations it is the way I have acted that has caused problems and
not
the acne vulgaris itself. True there are cruel people who say things but these
people
are more than likely insecure themselves,it is how you deal with it that
is
important. I once turned the chance of a relationship down because I
convinced myself that it would never work because of my skin. In hindsight
who was I to deny that girl the chance to go out with such a handsome
devil.
Only joking !

- tip three - is simple. When I meet someone I most concerned about how
funny
they are , if they are fairly relaxed and that in general they are a
decent
person . I would suggest that most other people are the same. People do
not
individually judge others on the number of spots they have or the redness
of
their face. If you are a good person and/or a wildly exciting lover
(another
poor joke!) , do you think they are going to worry? Would You ? NO.

Sorry for the delay I've just got back off my Christmas Break. Happy New
Year!

Dear Phil hehe nice one. Thank you for your very positive email it'll go
well on the site. I have stopped the Aloe Capsules on the site because I
can't afford to stock them and the gel is so good on it's own. For you I
would recommend the gel which you can apply in conjunction with any other
treatments and the moisturiser will be a good help I'm sure. The Gel clears
my rosacea spots and redness and has given me the confidence to apply for
another job for the first time in 6 years!!!!

After 5 years of so so success with cephalexin and metrocream, my rosacea has become out of control. Am now on metrocream 2 times a day, plus one tablet 500 mg twice a day of metronidazole. This just keeps me down to a dull roar. Have tried tetracycline, doxycycline, etc unsuccessfully. Since the office is closed and I am desperate, I am trying 1 and one half tablets twice a day. I am becoming very depressed. Any suggestions? I have not left the house for 2 weeks now.

Hi don't give up never give up - I have been there a few years ago my rosacea was so bad I was seriously suicidal it was a mistake - I couldn't see anyway out - I was wrong. The first thing is get your Doctor to visit you - tell him/her how depressed you are and that you cannot bear to leave the house (we all know how you feel you are not strange in any way - we have all done the same, I used to run out to the garage when visitors came or wear a motorcycle crash helmet - we're just trying to deal with a bad situation as best we can).Ask your Doctor about possible medication. Try to avoid the trigger factors, caffeine, alcohol as best you can, try and get out for a walk and other stress busters such as hypnotherapy (excellent), meditation, relaxation tapes etc. Remember you may suffer panic attacks, palpitations, fast shallow breathing, sweating etc. let it happen don't fight it - noone ever died from a panic attack ever!

Try our skin care products.

dear webmaster,

i've just reviewed your website for the first time. it is great!!!

i'm just wondering if any of the other rosacea sufferers have tried or read about aruvedic medicine or more specifically an aruvedic diet which would eliminate certain foods that might trigger rosacea, for example: tomatoes or other acidic foods.

if so, could you recommend any literature.
thank for your help & support.

regards,
patricia/canada

Hi Patricia thank you for writing and your kind comments. There really isn't any great mistory about the foods to be avoided by rosacea sufferers - the trigger factors are those things that make the face flush ie bring blood to the surface of the skin - for instance the sun, the wind, cold air, steam, hot drinks, strenuous excercise, spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine, the b vitamin niacin, STRESS - these trigger factors can all be tolerated to a lesser or greater extent depending on the individual. Obviously combining triggers or greater exposure to triggers will aggravate rosacea. I have never heard of Tomatoes implicated in triggering rosacea and as rosacea sufferers tend to be from light skinned races and celtic backgrounds and aruvedic medicine is ancient doctrines from the Indian continent well I would take it with a pinch of salt. You will have to excuse my scepticsism my sister and my family have been into Transendental Meditation all my life Aruvedic medicine is their latest buzz-word after that book by Deepak Chopra came out - she thinks they levitate for crying out loud - we have some arguments about it all I can tell you (mine being the voice of reason theirs being pseudo science misquoting quantum theory) - but if you do try it and it works let me know! I'll eat humble pie and even tell my family.

best wishes and take care

kcn..
